My record was probably a 14,500 lb forklift on a 3500 lb trailer with my 550 gallon water tank in the flatbed to keep the truck on the ground when loading. 4000 lbs in bed of 7400 lb truck means 29,400. It did pretty well considering.
That forklift put a hole in the floor of my trailer.
I have a pair of dually tire chains with the Dual V bar style. They were purchased from tirechains.com and have been used twice. They don't fit the dually I have now (different tire size), and have been used exactly twice. But, they were worth it the first time!!
Look here for the link: It's...
I laughed when he was talking about how he got the truck with over 700k miles on it and crediting the fact that it lasted so long to the oil he had in it when it failed. He's also going on about the fact that it didn't fail due to lubrication issues - of course it wouldn't if it didn't have that...
I don't follow. It's very easy to change instrument clusters on these older trucks. I actually did it on an old one for about five minutes to test a different cluster I was having issues with.
It takes about ten minutes on the OBS trucks.
I am really curious what is going on. Both sides test 12v to ground when the truck is on, but if I disconnect the wiring from the relay I can get 12v signal from the truck. I tried jumping the relay and it will not click at all - so it would seem it is bad. I am getting .6 ohms across the two...
I saw one at a junkyard a while ago. It was a F350 chassis cab 4x4 dually with the 460 engine and a bad transmission. I wanted to buy the whole thing off him for the axles, as dually 4x4 axles are a little hard to find. So I ask how much for the whole thing as is.
$3500
He said the axle was...
I tested it more yesterday and I have 12v at both small terminals between the terminal and ground. I have no idea what this means.....
Tonight I am going to disconnect from the relay and retest the wires and coil separately. All gp's tested fine and I did some work to the UVCH.
Also -...
If it was an 08 or 09 maybe I'd believe that may be the case - but an 01??
It is very clean - but that stuff can be easily swapped out from a wrecked truck for little money and an evening's worth of work.
That surprising - but I'm still struggling with the fact that someone would spend the kind of money it takes to modify that truck and then not drive it commercially. If it doesn't have a million miles on it I'd suspect odometer fraud.
I was having a hard starting issue that I thought was related to injector O rings. After a month in the garage, and new O rings all around, with new UVCH plugs - the glow plugs are not kicking on at all. I had the whole engine harness taken off to work on the UVCH parts (had to repair and solder...
I had always intended to do this until i read an instruction manual on a waste oil boiler. It was made to burn waste oil and was talking about the maintenance to clean out the combustion chamber. it turns out that small bits of metal and other contaminants suspended in the oil (they filtered...
Some of the bolts match up between the two but not all.
Your only real option is an adapter set. A machine shop should be able to make one for you. If not, PM me and I can help you find someone.
I have exactly the same truck only black. That one is in a little nicer condition.
I told a guy I'd sell mine at $3500 a few months ago.
Mine's not really for sale - I have since decided to sell the duramax and am doing some maintenance/repairs to the PS now. Anway - I'd think 4000-4500 would...
I have a B&W gooseneck hitch from a 1994 F350. I believe it will fit any 1980-97. It is in very good condition with minimal rust even. Price is $250. Shipping is available.
I have a dually bed in black off a 1994 F350. It is drilled for the B&W hitch which is available but not included. It is in fairly good condition, with some small dents and a rough spot on one fender (very repairable). More pics are available, but I don't have enough attachment space on TDS to...
I agree. The repairs done were wrong and may have actually weakened it. With that much rust and half baker repairs all bets are off. If that came out of my shop and you were complaining to me I'd tell you to get lost too.
Do yourself and the rest of us a favor and take it to someone who knows...
