i have fluid leaking from my transfer case. it looks like its coming out of the spline tube where it transitions into the ujoint yoke. there is a metal plug, kinda like a freeze plug, in the end of the spline tube, hence the u joint is throwing fluid everywhere.

i just finished replacing the following on my dana50 IFS (it forgot straight)
all 4 ball joints...moog
4 tie rod ends and drag links...moog
steering box.... summit racing
both pivot bushings...energy suspension
all 6 spring eye bushings and shackle bushings...energy suspension
and now...
i noticed my TC was leaking fluid, so i replaced the tailshaft bushing and oil seal...... still leaks.
then i noticed that the case was cracked right under the drain plug boss, from the face of the plug to 1/2" toward the front. looks like i put too much teflon tape on it many years ago...
in the quest to completely overhaul my front end i am soon to replace my pivot bushings on my dana 50 ifs. i just finished all the ball joints and rod ends and still have a clunk on a certain bump on my road. going to do the leaf spring bushings too.

i just replaced all 4 ball joints and 4 rod ends thinking that might be the reason for the clunk. the ball joints were all shagged, and 2 of the rod ends were also. so i was certain i had fixed the problem. i also replace the shocks, the bushings in the shock ends were shagged too.

when i rev it up and quickly let off the throttle the rpm dives down to 400-500 rpm and it almost dies when cold and the fast idle is off. it recovers back to the base idle of 700 rpm.
