    Back in Vegas

Good to hear you got it running! If you were to do it over again would you have just pulled the engine? I am going to be tearing into this when I get my other pile out of the shop. Any advice that would make my job easier when I get to it would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Head stud install

Good luck man! Let me know how it goes. I need to pull the heads because while INSTALLING NEW motorcraft beru glowplugs I twisted off a glowplug tip in the head....ughhh. I knew it was going a little tough so I started to back out the new plug and pop! The autolite ones that were in the engine...

    Head stud install

I am going to be installing head studs soon in my 86 6.9. My question is this. Can I install them with the engine still in the truck? It looks like there rear studs are going to be tough to install. While im on the subject could someone give me a part # from ARP for the studs. Thanks guys.

Thanks for the compliment rot box. I love these old pickups. I also have a few 70's fords in my collection. Also thanks alot for all the input everyone. I am also seriously contemplating putting some 37'' humv take offs onto my crewcab, I have some 16.5's laying around. I wonder if I could get...

Turbo my 6.9 or install 7.3 with turbo

Ok I have a 1986 F-350 crew cab. The entire pickup only has 50,000 original miles on it and runs great and is the most reliable IDI I have ever driven. I would like to have a little more power however. Here is my dilemma. I also have an 89 F-350 with a 7.3 that has a banks turbo on it. I believe...

    hard starting when cold

The wires all look to be in good shape. Interesting point on the temperature sensor. When I tried to start it the other morning I saw that the temp on the over head read like33 degrees, but I know damn well it was colder than that. I wonder if that is the problem...thanks again for any help.

    hard starting when cold

Yeah I checked and I have no power going to the manifold heaters. I have constant power on the solenoids but none going to the manifold when I turn the key. It does have an edge 5 stage programmer on it. What do you guys think it is? I looked for a relay or fuse for the manifold heater but did...

    hard starting when cold

2001 cummins is hard starting when cold. This is a pretty dumb question but how long should the manifold heater stay on when it is below 32 degrees. It will start fine when plugged in. When it is cold and not plugged in it will crank and fire 2 or 3 times before it will run, when it finally will...
