    Added battery charger

I added a better battery charger/tender to plug in when I don't drive for few days. I've owned the truck for 13+ years. Previous owner had told me about a parasitic battery drain maybe because of aftermarket alarm install 'he said'. I spent over $600 having it searched and eliminated accessory...

    Shock Replacement Time

Bilstein's all the way !! I am no mechanic... but replacing the shocks is easy. You don't even have to remove the front wheels. My F350 rides firm but the Bilstein's smoothed it out a little, even the wife thought it rode better. Islander

Tachometer Stays at 500 RPM after engine Shut Off

It has been suggested that it may be the cluster. However... the symptoms of a bad cluster involves way more than what I have going on. I will keep testing and see if I find anything. Islander

    4r100 Deep Sump pan ?

trackspeeder, thanks for the suggestion, however I do think that the 4r100 has a small reserve of tranny fluid. If I could add more fluid with a deeper pan that adds to the cooling such as this one http://www.northernautoparts.com/ProductModelDetail.cfm?ProductModelId=19807 I think I may be...

    4r100 tranny Info please

Thanks OldBull8, Can anyone explain to me the pros and cons of multi (3) disc TC over 2 disc TC. If it means 'harder firmer' shifts don't think I want that, or should I say the co-pilot (wife) wouldn't like it, geeezee.... I was lucky enough to get the sound deading down to an acceptable level...

    4r100 tranny Info please

I will be upgrading my tranny and TC soon but because I am 'no' mechanic I seek some advice. During a first trip last weekend towing our 5th wheel I treated the tranny carefully not wanting to over heat or stress it. On a few long grades the speed droped well below the posted limit and I...

    Electric Vacuum Pump

On going problem I have one more question........ If the FWD switch on the dash is 'off ' shouldn't the two hose conections on the bottom of the PVH (pulse vacuum hublock solenoid) not allow any air to passage ? To help make my question clearer , the vac pump keeps cycling, on & off, even...

    Electric Vacuum Pump

Update OK.... I bought a vac tester and found I have 17 Hg at the pump. Seems low from what OLDBULL8 replied. From there on I tested the tank by taking off the hoses at the bottom of the solenoid, plugged the heater one and stuck the vac test into the other, tank built up vacuum to more than...

    Electric Vacuum Pump

We had some snow a few days ago, went to use 4x4 and it wouldn't engage. So today I did some research (online) to find it may be my electric Vacuum Pump. Test = change heater settings to see if air would blow from dash or floor other than defrost vents. Results = would not stay on dash or...
