    Hot coffee Cupholders

I used cereal box cardboard for templates. I took off the radio bezel trim piece and traced the flat part above the radio, that was my base. Then I made another template that was the same size of the base of the store-bought cup holder, but also, I made it follow the dash trim piece that...

    Hot coffee Cupholders

I built a fiberglass/metal base for said store bought cupholder and places it on the dash above the radio/hvac controls. It works great! Its not too high and I can grab my drink and put it back without even looking off the road! I have had disposable plastic cups in there before and once its 1/2...

I would want to have long tubers flowing into a remote mounted turbo :sly I think that'll flow nicer than shorties and the X-over pipe

    I may be nutless...

Yeah these N/A's are pretty tough, slow but tough....Tuesday I had close to 4,000lbs of top soil in the bed of the '89 and from the back it looked like a 2wd LOL it hauled it 30 miles with authority. Very little smoke on take-offs and had no problems getting to 65 mph, but I did cause these...

    Another Treasure Found

Yeah no kidding! It took me 5 mins to look through all the pictures. I love the 3 undercarriage pics on the lift taken so it looks like 1 long pic. What a piece of history, yeah its got a little rust and some dings, but that is such an amazing looking vehicle! ;Sweet Neat parking brake as...

    Lori gets a Diesel!

Yeah, you pretty much hit the nail on the head warden. We are part of TDIClub.com. I'm pretty sure the coolant is even a special coolant available from the dealer. Tools? yeah, there's plenty of specialty tools...sprocket holders, stoppers, etc,etc...there's a box of them on the shelf we might...

    Lori gets a Diesel!

Gotta love those tdi's. I'm driving my brother's '96 passat while he's in college and it gets close to 45 mpg....but thats on a few fill-ups cause it takes about 2.5-3 weeks to reach empty LOL. But seriously its averaging 43-44. Hope she lasts a long time, we rebuilt the motor this past...

    Gas gauge wont leave Full

Thats how I did my pick-ups^^ The universal senders are around 30-40 a piece, but depending on who you hear it from factory senders are either MIA, expensive, or someone else knows a hook-up and can get is cheap.

    Gas gauge wont leave Full

I had both problems, the gauge pegged full until I ran out, and it would only take 12 or so gallons. Turned out both sender and pickup were bad....on both tanks!! So I did the sun-pro universal fuel sender, pick-up tube, and filler neck mods on both tanks. The front gauge reads pretty...

Newbie with an oddball project...Farm Rod.

Just got through reading all this and im green with envy, not just cause of your project (although its a big contributor), but all the other sweet builds that are going on here. Sucks having to save all my money for college next year, but I think waiting 10 more years or so to settle down...

if i have 1400 id get this

I can't even sniff 17 mpg let along 21. Out of all the diesel's my dad has owned in the past, the best was 19-20 with an '04 PSD. :puke: The best I've gotten with the '85 was about 12 and I'm getting 13.6 in the '89 with the hubs locked. I know it can be done, but I guess I'm just jealous...
