    Block Heater Blowing GFCI...

I had the same problem, plug in heater and trip gfci... I put a multimeter on the plug and it showed a short. I unplugged the cord from the heater element and then it showed open. So I replaced the block heater, now it works great. The element that I pulled out looked pretty rough but I still...

    Dual Coil Glow Plugs

fx4, I checked the link, went to the wellman website, and it looks like the original site I posted is a distributor... so I guess accuratediesel.com is actually selling wellmans plugs... thanks!

    Dual Coil Glow Plugs

http://www.accuratediesel.com/gplugs.htm Does anyone have any experience with these plugs? They sound like a good deal but I don't know much about plugs, other than I have 8 champions that need to come out. I've seen a lot of mention of Beru on various threads, the parts store in my little...

    6.9 Vacuum Related Questions...

regarding the last picture: on my truck "A" (heater hose bracket) bolts to the alternator adjustment bracket, to the passenger side of the alternator bolt. The screw goes thru the alternator bracket in the same manner that the alternator bolt does.

    Back In The IDI Game!!!

I did the upper only. Mine had rusted thru about 4 inches from the edge along the entire top of the wheel well but the bottom still had good steel so I cut out about a six inch swath and then cut the new tin to be about two inches bigger than the part I cut out. I tucked the new tin in behind...

    Back In The IDI Game!!!

I had good luck with them. I'll try to dig up the before and after pics. I'm no body man but these were a pretty close fit so it wasn't too hard. I did both sides by myself in a weekend with a cut-off wheel and a 110v wire feed welder.

Has anyone else noticed all the new members to the site?

Every time I need to do some work to the truck I come on this site and search through any posts on the subject. This usually saves me a lot of time and trouble. I have the diesel engine repair manual and the chilton manual for my truck, but it is great to be able to come on here and find a post...

    Back In The IDI Game!!!

Nice looking truck! I bought body repair panels from JC Whitney that worked pretty good... I think they were 35.00 per side for the rear fender wells

    Glow plug carnage!

Did you have any trouble getting the old ones out? I know I have two bad glow plugs and it starts hard when the temperatures are low if I don't plug it in. I'm not really wanting to pull the heads to get the glow plugs out though.

    Wiper problem

Well it was looking like the switch was going to be the most likely culprit and the easiest place to start. I got a new one from the local parts store for $20. I already had the dash half apart so installing it was a breeze. This past weekend I drove 240 miles north to go horseback riding and it...

    Wiper problem

My wiper has just two speeds. I think the confusion I was having is that my problem(the wipers stopping suddenly mid-cycle for 15-20 seconds and then resuming) is intermittent but my wipers are not intermittent. I believe, after researching this website and others for several hours, that I have...

    Wiper problem

I'm having the intermittent wiper problem as described in the tech article. Unfortunately I can't find the wiper control module. I'm starting to wonder if I have one... There is nothing attached to the e-brake bracket and when I follow the wires back from the wiper switch they lead to the wiring...
