Nope. The IDI turbo was available for 2.5 years. I have one from a 1995 truck. I bought it out of a wrecked truck with a little over 300K on it. Ford knows the truck exists even if the aftermarket doesn't.- ne_plus_ultra_1

clarification The ring gear was from a manual transmission flywheel and it had same measurements as for an automatic flexplate ring gear.- ne_plus_ultra_1

I have that engine... I have one. 7.3 IDI Turbo from a 1995. They were in like 3% of the Ford F-series that year. 1994 had that option too. I think it has plenty of power. I have gotten a best MPG of 15. 14 might be average in my crew cab. I actually have a rebuilt tranny for that...- ne_plus_ultra_1

Yep. I've not looked upon Cardone as being a high quality remanufacturer. My old boss even got a rebuilt HEI distributor from NAPA once that had electrical tape wrapped around part of the pickup and PRESTO it was new! Didn't last long. I got some pix taken. I'll dig them out. Actually I gave it relatively short crank cycles with breaks although many of them. 1997 body, 1994 IDI wiring. I believe the switch worked well before conversion so I will chase wires first. I guess I should consult wiring diagrams for wire colors...? All the other lights in that corner work as well as the other filament of the bulb. I suppose I should have provided this...- ne_plus_ultra_1

Good suggestions. The first thing I did was check the timing on my serendipity. It was good so I checked the air in the back tire. Really I did start with checking bulb (brand new but checked anyway) and socket to which there is no voltage. I didn't start chasing wires or anything.- ne_plus_ultra_1

Against all advice and logic and out of desperation I finally used starting fluid, just a shot. It fired up instantly, ran great, continued to work and started up every time after that as well. The starter seems to have crapped out unfortunately but I will disassemble it in the morning and...- ne_plus_ultra_1

Hah! "Tanks for setting me straight" Both lines are 5/16" - delivery and return. It was only drawing vacuum, no flow. Like it was stopped up or something. Strangely this problem has evaporated. After switching the tanks back and forth a bit it works fine... I can pull fuel through with...- ne_plus_ultra_1
