Water Pump change on my '03 RAM TD

Okay.............. Just returned from the 'Zone' and O'Reilly's. Checked out their antifreeze options and none of the ones on hand were HOAT type antifreeze. None were recommended for Chrysler products, even though they were ethylene glycol antifreeze. Each brand had their own...

Water Pump change on my '03 RAM TD

Jordan, his name was Scott Williams and I think it was one of the larger places up there. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen him in many years. I heard he might have passed on some time back. Ever since I lost his mother, my sister, there has been little communication with that side of the...

Water Pump change on my '03 RAM TD

Thanks Jordan, I guess you're the only person on the forum to tackle this little problem. I'm not sure about the fan shroud, I've heard two bolts/four bolts. I've also heard that the shroud doesn't actually have to come out though that makes the swap easier. Mainly, that just the top two...

Water Pump change on my '03 RAM TD

Just a quick question. I just returned from taking my daughter back to Vanderbilt U. in Nashville. Got back to San Antonio and noticed a clatter from in front of the engine. Popped the hood and noticed the water pump pulley vibrating back and forth kinda 'radical' to say the least. Truck is...

    just joined the cummins crowd!

Great choice of truck! My own is an '03 RAM 2500, complete with only 43,506miles on the clock when I bought it. Has a block heater, 5,000 lb. air bag suspension in back, 5.9 litre CR, 48Re, full power everything, long bed and topper, set up for camper and snow plow (yeah, it's an Alaska truck)...

Nah, the GW is an '84. No Q-trac

My new ride, (and an older stablemate)

Yeah, The Grand Wagoneer IS the more fun of the two, but it sure is thirsty. The best is about 12 mpg on the highway. Comfort though is really nice in the RAM. Funny, both of the GWs front seats are 6 way power seats. The 360 ci engine has been rebuilt and bored thirty thousandths over...

I'm in the market. Opinions please!

Interesting posts here to say the least. I really like my '03 and get pretty good fuel mileage as well. Of course, that's stock (for now). I've always liked the Ford style and have had outstanding performance with my GM products. My '88 Suburban (recently sold) had over 352,000 miles on the...

Need Help - I think I'm getting screwed

Mikes91, I thought about this as well but was wondering if the problem might occur when engine load increased, as when begining a hill climb. An electrical short does seem more likely though.

My new ride, (and an older stablemate)

I mentioned my quest for a new(er) diesel in an earlier post and how I'd found what I thought was a good truck. Unfortunately, I thought the asking price was a bit high. Soooo, good Marine Corps persuasiveness being what it is, I was able to reach a price that was considerably less than the...

Need Help - I think I'm getting screwed

Have you considered the possibility of a bad fuel pump or fuel filter?? sounds like you might be getting starved for fuel. That can be an intermittent problem.

Should I buy this truck? Blown engine

My '88 Burb has a 5.7L gas mill with a 700R4. With 352,000 on the clock, I'd swap in a 6.2 OR a 6.5 if Momma hadn't bought me the common rail. Still, I really like the 6.2 & the 6.5.

    Lookin at a truck

Elliott, I agree with Scott. My new ride is an '03 RAM 2500 4x4, but with the four speed auto. Love this truck. It gets about 20-22 mpg on the highway according to my manual calculation. About 15-16 city. Lots of room, rides like a Caddy (or better) and the wife likes it better than her...
