hello,
has anyone had problems with the stock lift pump drawing air into the system? mine is only a few years old but has run lots of wvo/wmo so i wonder if that could cause it to wear out sooner than normal.
anyway, after replacing all hoses and clamps and tightening them very well, i still...
does anyone know where to get a replacement fuel filter bowl like the one that came stock with the trucks? i called filterbarn.com and they don't carry it but said the part # is 3919147s, and it goes with the FS-1281 fuel filter.
if anyone knows of other brands that make the same bowl could you...
Not yet! all i know is yesterday morning i tried to go to work but had to turn around and come home to borrow another ride....i literally could not go more than 5 mph for the last time and coasted into my driveway where it would stall everytime i restarted it.
THEN about 5 hours later i came...
it was around 20 F, and i know it should not have got clogged at that temp but it did anyway. for the final stretch home it would not go more than 5 mph...
i put a new fuel filter in this week, the last one i had, and it got clogged immediately due to fuel gelling (i think) and had to drive home at 15 mph....and then found out that filter barn doesn't carry the ones i need any more (bf1222)
does anyone know where to get filters for a good price? i...
thanks for the replies!
just to clear one thing up - the reason the tank was overflowing was because i had just topped it off yesterday, pouring from diesel cans into the tank and i put too much in. i don't think the selector valve is returning fuel from the front tank to the rear but i could...
i have never had much luck with the rear tank of my 89 f250. for one thing, it has to be filled by hand because for some reason when i try to fill up at the pump, the pump keeps shutting off every few seconds unless it happens to be a very slow pump.
much worse, however, is that it always seems...
are there any pictures on this forum of how to remove the front brake rotors on a 4X4 f250?
i started off today just planning to replace pads but now i find the caliper and rotor on one side are both shot and i can not figure out how to remove the rotor. any help greatly appreciated!
thanks,
Paul
yes, it does make that internal "clicking" noise. And, i think i am getting fuel out the return because i opened the top cover and it was full of fuel (previously the pump had beed drained & there was none in it when installed).
i also checked the shutoff solenoid to confirm that it is...
i figured out it was the injection pump that prevented my truck from starting unless the block heater was plugged in - then it would start fairly easily and run fine. Kind of strange-sounding but that's the deal.
anyway, i pulled the old pump off and send it in for rebuilding, and while i was...
on mine, the timing lines are amost identically lined up. I put the pump on myself (over a year ago) and did not know how to time the pump so i just lined them up. So, the timing could very well be less-than-ideal. But, if that affects starting why would the problem have just occured within the...
i had some extra glow plugs that i know were good so i disconnected the gp connector to the #2 gp (leaving the gp in there) and connected the extra one to the wire, and used a vice grip to ground it to the engine.
i activated the gp's and after a few seconds i could see the gp get red hot.
i...
