I want to see what you all are running for plows. Long wheel base, short wheel base, bull dozers, shovels...I don't care.

What do you remove snow with, do you plow for just yourself, plow other people's driveways or are you a commercial contactor!

I'll start.

1993 F250, one year old Snowbear 7' blade. Nothing I would do a huge parking lot with, but I have a list of about 30 driveways and a couple small parking lots to do this winter. I got $300 of my own cash into it, that's it! All I had to do was buy the mount, the blade was a trade off for work I done this fall.

Believe me, those snowbear plows are tougher than they look, you just got to know how to plow and take it easy on them.

I added a set of "head gear" to bolt lights to and a set of brackets with an old set of Western Skid Shoes on them as well. Just scrap steel I had laying around at the shop so I bit the bullet and started cutting and welding.

There are 3 of us grouped together to plow a grand total of 60 some driveways. This way, of one plow goes down we have two more and a fourth buddy who can sub us out if need be.

NOW IF WE CAN JUST GET SOME SNOW!!!!-cuss

Be carefull with that little plow, i remember when i was a little kid my dad bought a brand new 1996 F-250hd.. Anyway he then cheaped out and bought a Cheasy sams club plow kinda like that but a bit heavier duty.. First time he tryed to plow the parking lot of his buisness he hit a the line when the new pavement meets the old and drove over the plow. Ripped the whole setup clean off and under the truck, it was a sight to see... Best part is he then loaded it in the bed and drove to sams club dumped the mangled pile in front of the store and demand his money back :rotflmao:rotflmao

Here is my '97 PSD with a Sno Way 8 1/2 ft. Lobo V-plow. And my '86 with an 8 1/2 ft. western pro plow - conventional mount. I plow commercial contracts, for myself, driveways, my fire dept., etc. Have only had 1 snow fall so far. Although it was 10" plus. Now - waiting for more snow. Porbably not a white christmas here this yr.

How do you like that v-plow? I thought it would be nice to have one, but I just got a new job at a place that has a couple of them, and they do not like them. They say it always leaves a streak of snow when plowing parking lots.

Here's my plow below, a 7.5 meyers power angle. It does well, but in really deep snow you have to take short bites and push a lane doing short 45 degree pushes to the side, leaving the blade straight. If you try to plow a deep snow with the blade angled, it will start pushing the truck sideways.

That's why I thought a v-plow would be good, I could angle it back and then drive straight through the deep snow, and the truck would stay straight.

Today the high will be close to 75, it was 60 in the morning. The rest of the week will be the same.:sly
You're gonna have to kill me first to take me out of Florida!
I'm really sorry for all of you guys that have to fight every morning with so much ice and snow:puke:. My hat's off to you brothers.

We don't have jack for snow this year yet, but I'm looking forward to plowing. My plow truck is my old 4x4 truck. 95' F150 with a flawless interior, power everything, remote start, and a banging stereo keep me happy. I've got a D50 front, chromoly outers, Power-Lok l/s, and MM supreme lockouts. The 8.8 has a skid plate and a trak-loc. 302/4R70W/1356 with 4.56 gearing plows snow like a dream.

I went through it this fall and installed a brand new timing chain and gaskets, transmission, driveshaft, leaf springs, gas tank and filter and a host of other upgrades and fixes. All this and NO SNOW...:mad::mad:

I've got $300 into my plow setup - an old cable operated Western plow. It's taken a lot of abuse and has been flawless. I like being able to pickup the plow by hand or drag it around on the ground ;p

I hand built all of the plow gear - we started off with a pile of steel and a welder and came up with a sweet setup, we even built in some warning fail points, nothing have bent, moved or been tweaked.

Got a 1/2" or more of the white stuff last nite. Probably take all day to clear it. The IDI tractor started right up so I could get busy clearing the driveway.
Just hope the sides don't cave in so I don't have to clear it again. Took darn near 2 hours to do it.

^^Sorry bout the lack of action pictures, I haven't plowed snow with it since I was 6 or 7, and it hasn't run since the 90's.
Only pic of the 02 Foreman 450 ES 48" blade and of course the blade was off it at the time.

Been owned (by my dad) since November of 07 over 4000 miles with the plow, over 2000 miles towing and dragging, and one idiot that uses 4X4 on hardpack/pavement (backyard is all clay), it needs some wear parts replaced

I'll have to get some pics of the 05, and find the pics of the 66 Case and the 65 Hough

I know you did not ask me, but if you don't have them set up perfectly then they wear odd compared to a normal plow, in the scoop position the center wears out fast, and in the V position the ends of the cutting edge wear out fast.

If your boss would replace the wear parts they would stop leaving that streak of snow.

Goofy. Not to bust your balls, but I think You should listen to G.W.

By the looks of that plow, I think my 4 wheeler blade is stronger and only has 900lbs pushing it not 7,000

Goofy,

Here is my snow remover... not a truck.... but you asked for anything.....

It is not very big but it will move alot of snow..... I have found that once the snow is hood high, I can not push the pile back anymore.....

Besides, it is the correct brand for this site anyway....

1977 IH Cub Cadet 1450 it is a 42" blade, chains on the back tires.... The tractor weighs almost 1000 lbs, and when I am in the seat, there is plenty of weight on the rear tires... (~375lbs) so pushing snow I am almost at 1400 lbs.... it will really move some snow... I do my driveway, several of the neighbors and the cul-de-sac since I do a better job than the city does....
