For $150 it would have been mine. Thats all I can say. lol
I've personally seen one of these work and OMG are they loud! The one I saw was in an old dirt mover, a scrapper if anyone knows what I'm talking about.

no the SC has positive on the engine side and negative on the intake, which the turbo feeds constantly, but the turbo is pushing more to the SC. when it gets there it is composed again = more boost. basically instant no lag boost.

That is exactly my thinking. My setup will have the turbo feeding the Eaton M112. The newer superchargers have tighter tolerances than those old blowers, so when I start building boost with my turbo, it won't blow the seals out of the SC. On the old units like that, like Typr4 stated had a bypass valve for that very reason imo. Just so they didn't blow out the seals.

twincharged motors are awesome. I haven't seen one set up like that though. To make the ones that I've seen work, the air filter hooks up to the turbo which then feeds the intake of the supercharger which feeds the motor. Like they said, no turbo lag and you end up with much more power. It works really well on tiny displacement motors apprently.

I posted a video of a twin charged 12 valve Cummins a while back on this furum. That setup looked like it really screamed. I believe he was pushing like 60 psi with that setup. But even with a setup like that on our trucks pushing like 20 psi, I think it would make really good power too.

That is a 6v92 bypass blower/turbo assy, when the turbo boosts more than the SC can take, there is a bypass valve under that little servo can that opens up the endplate and feeds air around the blower rotors.

Yeah I have worked on too many of those.

OK that works then. That's the only way it makes any sense to me.

u asked how much boost they run? cant remeber stock, but i know a non turbo version will acutally pull a vacuum in the intake. i was amazed about that one. showed us that at UNOH.

Here I thought it was a 6V-72 assembly...hmm...my bad either way it would be freakin nice to have for wall art or hell...stuck on a 6.9/7.3 even for the WoWzEr factor....*****

That would be 6v-71, actually 71 and 92 blowers are basically interchangeable, there are large and small bearing blowers, regular and bypass(only on turbo app). And underneath the blower sometimes is a water to air aftercooler, uses jacket water obviously, cause compressing air makes heat, whoda thunk???

Anyone who isn't up on the older detroits...this will sum things up.

Using a 6-71 as an example. The first number is the number of cylinders. In this case, 6. There is sometimes a letter V following the first number....."6v-71"

If there is a V in there, the engine is in v formation....like a V6. If there is no V, the engine is inline.

The second number is the amount of cubic inches per cylinder.

So a 6-71 is 426 cubic inches (6/71 = 426)

Same goes for an 8V92.....it would be a V8 with 92 cubic inches per cylinder or 736 cubic inches.

Just thought I would add that....it helps understand the size of the engines in the older detroit 2 stroke family.

I own 3 of these setups, all running on Detroit 6V92 or 8V71 engines... same setup,,, different part number.

Supercharger makes air pressure at low RPM's, Turbo kicks in at higher RPM's efficency wise. The setup squeezes a little better RPM / HP range out of the 2 stroke Detroits.

On a screaming jimmy? The last one I messed with had the turbo ******* oil out the exhaust and down the intake, but the blower was still fine.

750,000 miles and still going strong... on one of them... 520,000 on another one... no problems.. They are a "no contact" air pump. The vanes don't rub together, just almost touch. Bearings are pressure fed, Drive is gear drive, so as long as the engine oil is serviced properly, they keep on keeping on. 2 stroke Detroit Diesels are made to industrial standards, drive them like you stole them and they are happy.

Any engine will pull a vacuum in the intake if you restrict it ;Sweet

I drove a potato truck with a 8v-92, fun truck to drive, i was going up a steep hill to a field and stalled the truck, i forgot to push in the clutch and it started rolling back, guess what, those engines will run in reverse, scared the s**t outta me, all this black smoke come pouring out the intake. loud as hell to, got her shut down by dumping the clutch in a high gear. then started back up and drove away. anybody else have one start in reverse before?
