Perfect new glow plug harness (Cheap too!)

I made a harness a few months ago with 10 gauge wiring and those bullet connectors. I wasnt too happy with the bullet connectors they stayed on but not very tight and i've had a couple vibrate loose. So i found the 6.0L power stroke harnesses are readily available and have nice connectors and are pre made for under $50. The only thing you need to do is solder/crimp the 4 wires to a single 10 gauge and route it to your glow plug controller. The 6.0s use ZD13s which have the same .157" bullet at the top. Maybe this has already been posted but i figured i'd share it since i think its a great harness that fits with no modification. The one front connector is slightly pulled on but i think once the engine warms up the plastic wrapping will stretch a little and let it sit straight.

Only Q I have is will it work with the GP controller and the resistance that it uses to tell when to shut off the plugs.....

The resistance is in the plugs as they heat up. 6.0s glow plug circuit pulls 200 amps too. Its just wiring. I haven't started truck yet but don't expect any issues

Great find and reapplication to our engines. Please install the hard line vibration clamps before you start the engine. No telling how long it takes for the fuel pulse vibrations in the hard lines to crack one. Usually I have seen the number 2 hard line crack just above the injector nut. Getting to the bottom of the hard line nut on the back of the injection pump is a ruff one too. Usually takes the special nut wrench or special socket to get at it.

I don't have a 6.9 to try but Im sure it would as long as it had the bullet style glow plugs

This is interesting as I don,t like the bullets either and we can't get the oem connectors. I can't believe no one else tried this. You should do a better write up and take more pics and have it posted in the tech section. I hope some others or maybe Conestoga Diesel can try this and let us know how they like it. Thanks for the info.

I'll wait until I've actually run them and finished the install first. I just wanted to share a few pics of them since I got them today and verified they fit, actually incase someone thought of something I missed or that would cause an issue.

Yes, please more details and pics on how you modified and connected the 2 harnesses together and into the factory connector.

Well I am just going to cut the connectors off, crimp the 4 wires together one goes to each glow plus, goino to connect a 10 gauge wire to each set of 4 and a ring terminal on the end of those to connect to glow plug controller.

Perfect new glow plug harness (Cheap too!)
