The oil itself doesn't go bad, it's the additive packages and acid neutralizers that become depleted.

Engine cleansing solutions

Yes that is exactly what happens, The solution is to have installed high effiency oil filters, all manufactures of filters have a premium line of filters that are 5X better than Wal Mart/DAP best filters can offer.

The use of Full Flow filters that use Nano Fibre as media will last considerably longer and catch many more contaminate than conventional WARRANTY filters.

During long drain intervals it makes more sense to monitor oil condition via the LAB than to blindly just drain and refill.

During that time the replacement of a filter and makeup oil will replenish lost additives that the sump oil has diminished.

This is of course only done if you can keep the AIR intake tract as clean as A church and free of injesting any dust/dirt.

Collection of this DATA will improve analysis of engine condition and save considerable downtime and expense year after year for the user.

Adding an additional oil filter AKA bypass filter will in fact allow the engine oil to last indefinately with UOA monitoring.

Using this practice with my own vehicle gets me banned from most forums :dunno
