I did. Could not find anything.. some links hinted at something power steering but I doubt that. location: Right side near the firewall.

Nothing hooked up to it?
Was it just laying?
Doesn't belong on your truck though, that's for sure. Lol

Ok added my ride thanks foe the recommendation. Yes it has a clean rubber protector sleeve. The connection is 3 open prongs. I'll track it back and see where she leads today.

Never seen one of those before so guessing WAID nailed it.

If not maybe someone put in a aftermarket windshield washer tank or coolant recovery tank and this was a sensor from inside it. Maybe someone dropped it in there. Maybe if flew up off the road somehow.

Definately looks like a liquid level reader or temp probe.

Flux Capacitor probe. Or, maybe for the turn signal fluid.

Seriously, I've never seen that part and I have WAY TOO MANY IDIs.

I have an '87 at the shop. I'll try to find anything similar when I get back up there (hopefully tomorrow) if you haven't figured it out by then.

Another photo that includes a common \ familiar object would allow immediate visual reference to size. Also include the part number within your text. It's not anything I recognize.

I couldn't find the code anywhere. I appreciate everyone's help. I agree it certainly looks like a probe I just don't know where from. I am still trying to figure what this last guy did.

Don't let the picture fool you. It's 3 prong

Bingo. Thank you waid. So the wires lead back and tell the truck what? Is this in part what controls the wait light right of steering?

Those are for the water in fuel light. I believe they are power signal and ground but haven't checked the wiring diagram yet. I recently replace my water seperator with a racor unit so its not in my truck. Racor offers a sensor as an add on and I have considered seeing if I could hook that to the factory system, but its not really important enough for me to get to yet.
