ok guys when im driving, at least once a day in my 30 mile drive, my od light flashes like 20 times and then stops.

i scanned the truck and it gave me this...
code 26...transmission oil temperature sensor out of self test specification
code 65...over drive cancel switch was not cycled during engine run self test
code 74...Brake on off switch action not detected during dynamic response portion of engine run self test

also when it flashes, it shifts the same, and i can still control od on and off. any suggestions?

Change the fluid and clear the codes.
At least for me, that was the beginning of the end for my trans. I got 2 more years outta it after the blinking OD light.

This could be anything from bad sensors (though there are a lot of codes thrown), to the beggining of your tranns going down the drain. I would do as said above, change the fluid and clear the codes. Hopefully that will end it. I would get worried if it does it all the time, and the tranny goes into limp mode (drives up the line preasure causing some really really hard shifts).

i changed the filter and fluid about 3 months ago. i do however have a b&m shift improver kit which i put in the towing springs into the valve body so it shifts hard anyways so i cant tell that one. but, i do know that there is no bad smell in the fluid, if that helps.

also maybe good news, it didnt blink at all today.

and would too much fluid make the torque converter noisy? like a rhythmic, low pitched knocking noise?

A tired torque converter will be noisy. Sounds like marbles in a can.:D

As Ironman said in his post. Code 26 is the onlt code that means anything.

doesnt the e4od trans have a sensor on the injector pump that if it gets out of adjustment it can cause the od light to flash and cause it to shift hard?

Yeah it does, but then you would get a FIPL switch out of range code.
You should probibly test that anyway, and/or replace it if its still the black colered one.
Check in the tech articles for the adjustment procedure.
