there was a time 1980-1988 where slideback carriers were a known overweight ticket running down the road. unfortunately there was no other option other than a medium duty chassis truck that was too tall to handle the lowered vehicles. then in 1988......Ford introduced the F450 or F-superduty and that truck turned the towing world on its ear. overnight, the F450 achieved near total dominance in the towing market. as a reult, the F350 carrier was immeadiate ticket bait for DOT cops in kali.

Come to TX. if you stay within the state lines, you should see what's legal to be driven on the roads. i routinely saw swaybacked flatbed trailers pulled by semi tractors looking as sorry as the trailers. It's technically outside my jurisdiction and a beehive I didn't want to get near, so I let then keep moving along.

Yeah I thought it was pretty interesting that I could register my toyota for up to like 25000 gvwr. My bros dodge was registered for 40,000 gvwr when it was still a farm tagged truck
