can you put gen 2 wheels on a gen 1 truck, any one ever do it

They should fit but the offset might not be the same.

I put a set of 17" dodge rims on my 1st gen. I'm not sure if they were off of a 2nd or 3rd gen but I had to add wheel spacers 1-1/4" thick because the offset caused the rims to rub the upper arm during full turns and when I hit a dip in the road. Made a nasty grinding noise.

17in wheels are off the 3rd gen trucks.i have seen it done before.i can't find the 1990 dodge 2wd that has 2nd gen wheels but it is dieselpowermag on page 181 in the sep issue.good luck
