After restoring my friends 79 F150 last year, he has decided to sell it. I did a frame off resto that got completed the end of last summer. It got 2nd place at the Carlisle All truck Nationals

Specs
79 F150 Long bed
2nd owner
400m
4spd
4x4
3:55 gears
FACTORY A/C

Engine was replaced by original owner shortly before he bought it w a crate engine.

The 9" rear was also rebuilt shortly before he bought the truck as well.

He put new ball joints, brakes, rotors, calipers, seals, steering linkage in the front axle.

I did the frame off resto.
It got a RUST FREE cab, bed, and hood from the south.
It has NOS doors, fenders and tailgate.
New interior including reupholstered seat, new carpet, Sound deadener on roof, cab floor, and back, and doors. It is super quite in the cab. The rest of the interior was painted or dyed.
SEAT IN PICS is NOT the redone seat. It was redone since pics

The outside was completely stripped, primed and painted with base/clear PPG in a 05 GM blue/

Tires are 33/12.50/15 on custom 15x10 stockton wheels w factory hub caps.

All the trim was stripped and polished.

I have pics of the complete resto for the serious. PM me if you are interested

here is the final out come. he is asking $20,000. he has more than that into it, and for anyone that know, it takes alot to do this.

Good luck with the sale.
Sadly, it seems that classic F-series trucks don't get the re$pect that other car types do.

Hopefully there is someone out there that wants a '79 with a modified motor and a 4speed.

It cost a lot to build a old one like ours or any for that matter. I would rather have a old steel truck any day over a new one.

she's a beauty. 78-79 F Series is by far my most favorite look. I always had thought the 78's had round headlights and the 79's had square headlights though?

Yes. they are 78 headlight, he liked them better. He still has the square ones though

Apparently you dont know how to make one run then. In stock format, yes they were under powered. A lil tweaking and it runs like a ***** date

umm yeah. i'll take a 460 any day of the week over a 400. and on a small truck like that i'd consider a 429. i dont know why your so quick to call out other peoples abilities when they give an opinion but its annoying. i bet it runs like a '***** date' with 3.55 gears and exhaust manifolds. you've got a nice paint job, but i bet the 400 makes selling it more difficult. put a real motor in and it'll be easier getting 20k out of it.

Like I said, apparently YOU dont know how to make one run. This truck will dam near keep up with my SUPERCHARGED 460. Just because you looked at it as a stock engine, doesnt mean it is. Guess you didnt see the intake, carb, port job............

if that 400 with stock manifolds and nothing but an intake, carb, and port job is keeping up with a supercharged 460 something is wrong with your 460. that's all i'll say about it. you back up those **** 400s, i'll stick with tried and true 460s. carburated 460s that is, not a sc fuel injected 460..

my uncles 1 ton on 38s with a built 429 outran 5.0 mustangs. id like to see a 400 on 38s do that. And the price tag of one that does.
