If it was me id run the old filter until the truck starts acting the same as it did before, and then cut the filter open and inspect. besides that there is nothing else I could imagine that would cause that. I also just did a thermostat myself.
Anyone ever made a e4od crossmember work for a zf5? I have a welder and a grinder and if it isn’t a crazy amount of work I’d love to go that rout. Luckily I have a 93 zf5 4x4 truck to sitting next my my e4od truck so o can look at the major differences
I'm going to try adjusting it to spec cause my truck idles correctly, and going to replace the in op 3rd brake light. also ordered the updated pan and reusable gasket so i can just drain the pan from the bottom.
Yeah the only zf5 I found was 3k with a tcase. Everything is expensive. Hell atf is up to $7-$8 a quart! And thanks! If you know of anyone that has a door in the same two tone I’m looking for one. Other side of the truck has a 86 door.
I tested Key on engine off. I have the original shifter stalk but I ended up just wiring the harness so I could have a button on the dash for overdrive. Going to test the FIPl values today and see what I find. Also going to inspect the harness and connectors
This is what the pan looked like. I did a full trans flush and service 4k miles ago. Picking up a code reader today and going to pull the codes. If I can get it shifting thru all the gears on jack stands with no load I’ll be happy to put a new transmission in it. But I don’t want to blow another...
Not sure if this kind of post is allowed. but I'm having a really hard time finding a transmission for my 1992 7.3 idi anywhere near me. I am located in central Washington. Any leads would be appreciated. Just looking for something to get my truck back on the road.
I don’t have a lot of information on this but when I was looking up fly wheels for our 93 na idi zf5 it had different fly wheel options. And I was also told it had to do with the crank balance on the na vs turbo engines. Not exactly sure if that’s true but that’s what I’ve been told. I’d take...
I bought the truck for $1500 and the previous owner broke the shift tube along with the lever. I ended up just fastening the cable to the column and I just pull
the cable into whatever gear (I’ve gotten pretty good at it) the truck would shift hard but it would go into overdrive. I lost...
If the exhaust isn’t hazing white and you’re oil doesn’t look like it has diesel in it I’m sure you could let it leak for a while longer. But it’s never a good idea to let issues with flow to the injection pump linger. It needs to stay lubed up and it running dry is never good. Never know when...
I had the same issue with the gauge showing no pressure. Changed out the sensor snd it worked for a day and back to 0psi. Threw a cheap Napa gauge in and found out it had great pressure. Also if you’re not wanting a cheap ugly gauge cluttering up tour dash glow shift makes nice looking easy to...
Be mindful this is my first post in a forum of this sort ever
I bought my 92 7.3 E4OD pickup with 314k and was told the trans was replaced. Transmission shifted harder then normal but I was also told it had a shift kit. I lost overdrive about 4k miles down the road and a friend informed me...
