    Promise... the build

I didn't realize it takes that long to clear up, must have missed that part. I only mentioned it because I had a problem last year with my glow plugs where only about half were working, the truck would start fine but then lope hard and blow white smoke until it ran for a minute. I...

    Promise... the build

If this thing's running that rough when it's cold are you a 100 percent sure that your glowplug system is functioning correctly?

    Opinions on oil

I totally get that. I would have plugged mine in as well if I had the option at the time. it sure didn't sound like it liked it when I fired it up lol

    Opinions on oil

That's not necessarily true, I started mine at -40 a couple weeks ago without it being plugged in and sitting over night. it made a lot of racket but she still fired up. I also run synthetic 5w40 rotella

You can't feel the vibration in the steering just in the floor. if that helps at all

    howling/Drone sound

I literally said it sounds like an exhaust leak to my helper ( I'm a welder) just yesterday but didn't want to throw my own guesses out there. I'll check it out Monday when I can get it in a garage.

    howling/Drone sound

Ok so this just started. When the truck is under load and I'm heavy into the throttle I get a howl, and a vibration, it sounds almost harmonic. As soon as I let go of the throttle it stops. I checked my torque on my tires just to be sure I wasn't about to lose one (been there done that). So now...

    7.3 IDI definite exhaust leak

Kopr kote is better and can withstand temps up to about 1000 degrees Celsius. We use it to seal steam line flanges with worn mating faces.

    Better acceleration cold than warm!

I love this forum. Thanks for the great thread. I got a feeling my high idle isn't working even though I goose the throttle before firing. Great advice and thread. Thanks again

Glow Plug System Seems to Work but Not Get Hot Enough to Start Engine

Oh I wanted to add even if you can hear the relay click doesn't mean it is latching properly and allowing full current. The only way to know got sure is to test with a multimeter.

Glow Plug System Seems to Work but Not Get Hot Enough to Start Engine

Hope this helps diagnose your relay. I just had the relay on my 02 powerstroke fail this morning. Quick confirmation with my multimeter to rule out wiring or a pcm fault and 85 bucks and 10 minutes of wrenching and my glow plug system was fully operational.

    1992 F250HD dually conversion questions.

I pipeline for a living in northern Alberta. Every welding truck I have ever owned is a dually. I've spent literally a few years of my life driving on ice roads. The only time I have ever had my truck stuck is when it's buried to the frame and the wheels no longer are touching anything...
