    Well I'm 24. I use my truck for work work and more work. It's my toy too but whenever I'm not working I drive the wife's car cuz it's cheaper. Can't think of any bad experiences I've had with shops, cuz I rarely go to one. All my maintenance and repairs are done by me.

    FUMOTO VALVE. Lol. Other than that I would say drain into clean container (empty oil containers that fresh oil came from?) And then dump back in. I know if I tried the finger thing, I would end up with oil everywhere.

    I like that idea. I can't even reach mine with the short end of the Allen. Gotta use the long end. But I can't turn it backwards either even with slipping a socket over the short end to give me more meat to grab .

    Are you talking about the rubber gasket like thing? I might try the mallet trick. And I think I'm gonna get myself a T-Handle Allen set. That would probably help a lot too.

    Google says its called a "hood pop up spring" probably because it's what holds the hood down until you pull the cable

    So got new batteries, and the alternator is fresh, it still died overnight. I did notice that I left the AC switch on and left the truck overnight. That stupid AC is starting to become a common factor every time it's been dead. I also unhooked both ground cables and tested for milliamps going...

At first I thought it might be my thermostat housing, but the 'stat is only a few months old, and I sealed it with the gasket and a thin layer of red RTV spread on both sides of the gasket.     Update: found some of my red rotella ELC on top of the motor sitting to each side of the injection pump. Water pump is a bit wet and rusty. I don't have a front bumper on the truck currently, so is it possible that the water pump is weeping a bit and air is pushing water up and back?

    So my truck has a coolant leak. Coming from the rear passenger side. At first I thought it was the block heater. But reached my hand in their and felt around it, nothing. I can see the leak on my exhaust, track it up to headers, and then I can't see up in there because of the cross member. Hate...
