I turned the pump down 1 flat it helped but not much. Should I take it down one more. I'm up loading a vid this is full throttle. Also something weird gen i got home the tuck would not stop running I turned the key off 3-4 time then it final turned off.https://youtu.be/OfSsqlf2v00
OK I think I need help. I just double checked the timing with the timing light and it 9.5 +/- 2 and the pick up said 9.5. It still smokes really bad at 3/4 to full throttle. It runs really good now but the smoke bugs me!! What can I do next. Please help thanks
In hindsight I wish would have done more investigation. It's a work truck so it's just got to be reliable. I just don't really like the smoking thing next time around or if I decide to turbo the truck I will probably go with a moose injector set up but for now I just got to get it running so...
The injectors are from accurate diesel. I just spent a hour playing with the timing it's a 9.3 BTDC it seem to be better. I can't go on a long test drive tonight but it looks like less black smoke. I'll test tomorrow let ya'll know. Thanks everyone for the help up to now!!
Okay just a heads-up now I replace the injectors Timed the truck and replaced the fuel pump. Three of the injectors look like they have water on them I'm assuming that's a bad thing. I still have black smoke at three quarters to full throttle. What next ?
The first one he installed was for a turbo but by the time I got back to my house is leaking so I brought it back to him. I asked him if it was for a turbo he said yes. I told him to install the correct one. One for a nonturbo. The next day when I came to pick it up mentioned something about it...
Oh sorry I missed that It was a "manufactured" unit but the guy will not return my phone call to say where he got it. So I'm kinda in the dark I'll try getting that info. Is there any way to tell by looking at it? It looks newly rebuilt.

Any one using A Tech-Time Model 3300 to time your IDI? Just wanted some tips and make sure I'm using it right. It seems I'm a bit advanced it's reading 10.5 @ 2000 RPM. But i'm Still not sure I got it set up right. Anyone do avid on this unit? or a step by step?

Any thoughts on the flickering fuel filter light? I think it might be the Lift pump. Thinking I might change to Electric, better wire-man than mech. lol
