Those track pictures looks like the old drag strip in Oswego, IL. that isn't there anymore. I heard that someone that was associated with that engine lived in Yorkville,IL. and BRDMH44 was that video out at bubba's?
I'm selling my 1986 ford 6.9 4x4 it runs just doesn't move. Has a new torque converter in it but wont move. It has 156,xxx on her. Runs like a champ just dont have time to fix her I'm moving to Texas so she needs to be god ASAP. Asking 750 OBO. Just want what I paid for her.
I was planning on running some sort of additive in the fuel for the first couple of tanks. i was surprised on how well she just fired up. she sat for months over the winter and she fired right up. this is my first idi and she my be rough around the edges but she runs like a raped date.
I'm going to be moving from Illinois to Texas. I have a few questions since I'm going to be taking the old truck. She's been sitting for over a year now. She still runs great, but I have to get the torque converter put in her and that's it. Other then doing a normal service of filters and fluids...
I know there is nothing metering air in all the diesel cares about is the metering of fuel, but I'm planning on a turbo. I was thinking about making the PSD intakes work on it knowing that I will have to make changes but I think it would be a cool and gives you more options.
What are some advantages or is it just a look and room thing. my thought is it would make a little more room in the valley so you could move the turbo up there.
I was wondering if anyone has went with a different intake manifold set up. I was thinking about fabbing a set-up that was morw like the OSB PSD. thoughts?
I was wondering what are some of the vehicles that you guys have on here that you put IDI's in I'm growing found of these engines and just want to see what people have done. This is nothing serious just a fun thread.
That is not my cup of tea either. I like trucks that have some lift to them but nothing like that. I 2-3" lift looks nice on some vehicles but other then that its a truck you lift it to high you look like an idiot IMO. each is there own
if someone where to try and hit even 300 what would it take. I no fuel, turbo, studs, port and polish heads, other head work. also something I was wondering the intake could it be replaced with the intake like the early powerstrokes have?
I'm not looking for outrageous numbers just enough to be able to scoot and have some fun, I know these engines cant keep up with the new diesel, but I would like to be able to not have a slow poke either. I'm looking for some sh*t and get.
Okay I know there are threads on here that say this but i'm having a hard time finding them when I search. What are some numbers you guys a laying down at the rear wheels? hp and torque? I plan on adding power to it but I need a direction to go. From the threads I have found I've heard a lot of...
Thanks that really helped with the choices I want to make. Right now the truck is a almost primer gray with red interior. My next question is where can I find what the original paint was from factory. I bought it off a friend and he never painted it, but he wasnt the original owner. where some...
I really like that scheme. The hardest part is finding the color combos. I'm thinking a red with white but it's hard to find pictures of them to see what would look good and what wouldn't. BTW Nice looking truck oregon96psd
