The glow plugs are working fine according to the voltmeter, but I just noticed the Altenator light is on as well, however it is charging the batteries ok.
The glow plugs are on the stock system.

I am finally getting around to installing the turbo I picked up from Darrin on my truck. It is a Banks non-wastegated kit from a 5spd truck. Of course I have an automatic and forgot about the relocated dipstick tube.
I would like to get it installed this weekend as we going camping next...
I recently picked up a 92 cab & chassie with 72,000 km (45,000 miles). I used the transmission for my truck and I'm in the process of transplanting the rest of it onto a 93 F-250 4x4 chassie.

How much did it end up costing you to have the modifications done by the exhaust shop? My parts truck currently does not have a cab or front clip so they could use it to fab the up pipe. It was a cab & chassie, but I don't expect that shoul make a difference.

I have a Banks non-wastegated turbo with the big rectangular aluminium intake box that came off a 5sp truck. Banks tells me the y-pipes are different for the 5 spd & E4OD versions of the turbo.
Has anyone come across this? Can I make the y-pipe fit, or am I out $400 for a new one?
Thanks...
Use up the motor oil and old fuel with your current Injection Pump (so what if it gets screwed up) and use the money you saved to buy a new pump.
Chris
Thanks for all the info:
dwaymar, I would like to here more about your Bronco tank install.
Where did you mount it?
Did it require any fabrication?
Were the gas pick-up tubes OK of did you need to use ones from a diesel?
What year Bronco did you get it from?
Chris
I just came across the ad on FTE, hope it helps.
"1989 ZF 5 speed manual 2 wheel drive tranny from a 7.3 diesel motor.i was told it will also bolt up to any big block ford motor. call 573 436 0731 harold"

Can the front pump be replaced without disassemblying the transmission.

If I figured I would get 140,000 miles out of a $2,500 rebuild, they both would be at the shop as we speak...
Thanks for the info Kevin, at least I have a direction to go now with your mention of wiring issues. I was a little panicked when I thought I was looking at 2 rebuilds for more than the trucks are worth.
The F250's tach & speedo apear to be working and the indicator needles are not bouncing...
I have 2 1992 diesel trucks, the transmissions are acting a bit flakey so I just read the codes.
The codes present are:
Truck 1 - F250
23, 26, 49, 59, 62, 29
Truck 2 - F350
62, 65, 74
Can anyone tell me what they mean?
Thanks
Chris
Yes $1000! He went down to $950, but that seems to be what all the yards are asking around here. Mind you, that is in canadian dollars. I have found a shop the will exchange it for a rebuilt for $1600, but he was talking extra for the fipl before I left the shop. Mister Transmission &...
I don't run synthetic in the truck, however in my gassers I find synthetic really performs in the cold weather. When it is cold out it allows the motor to spin faster & easier.
A few years ago it hit -38 deg. C & I happened to have a couple of liters of 5W30 oil, the dino was like cold...
Will a 2wd E4od in an E350 fit in my F250? I think so, but I'm not sure.
I found an E350 that's being parted out not to far from here, but they want $1000 for the used tranny. I think that's to much unless it has very low milage. When I call it will be interesting to see if they are...
Good Question, & timely as my E4OD is shot, now for a couple more.
Does the manual need to be out of a diesel?
Will a manual from a powerstroke work?
What options are available?
Chris
I've got to remove the injector pump & send it out to be rebuilt. Any tips, tricks, or Though Shalt no Do's? I've got the Haynes manual which isn't the best but, I shall muddle through somehow.
Thanks,
Chris
Thanks for the info, The beer for the boys might get expensive, I was thinking about using an engine hoist & some sort of H-Frame.
Any ideas on what else should be done while the bed is off the truck.
Chris
I have rust over each wheel well & a large dent behind the drivers rear wheel. I have a line on a rust free box. What's involved in the R&R?
Thanks,
Chris
