My old tube and the new one I bought from Ford did not use 2 clamps- only the 1 that attaches the hose to the CDR. The part that inserts into the valley pan was formed as part of the hose. The original one was so dried out that I had to use needle-nose pliers to break it apart and pull the...
I can also blow through both large holes easily. There is a tiny hole in the firewall side of the metal canister. I'm pretty sure it is there to vent the canister in order to allow the diaphram to move back and forth. If it wasn't there the diaphram couldn't move because it would create suction...
I wish it was that easy to change!
The CDR had never been removed on my 89 F-SuperDuty. There is a metal band that clamps the hose to the valley pan to the CDR and access is nearly impossible. I removed the 2 bolts and pried up on the driver's side "ear" on the CDR with a large screwdriver...
According to my notes the 6041 weighs 250 lbs. If it's a straight 6041 the gear ratios are 2.14:1 UD, 1.24:1 UD, 1:1 DD and .86:1 OD. If it's a 6041A the UD and DD ratios are the same but OD is .75:1.
A new one is about $140. I got a good used working one off of Fleabay.

I live 50 miles west of Belton and I could go look at it next week. What exactly do you want to know about it? If you will be passing through this area (Central Texas) on your way to MS do you plan to go look at it? As others have said- I don't think you need to worry about it being sold any...
Back in '75 or '76 when I was a Accounting major at UT I took a Petroleum Engineering course as an elective. The professor was the guy who invented the system of injecting steam into a well to "loosen up" the thick crude.
I also took an Aeronautical Engineering course. It was the ground school...
Maybe you're thinking about a Low Air Pressure warning. Trucks with air brakes have this feature and it goes off when there's enough air to operate the brakes.
