    reverse lights

I would check the fuse first. I had to replace the trailer pigtail on mine a couple of years ago. The part of the pigtail that plugs into the factory harness had shorted inside, I suppose from just the little bit of movement from that was present over time. My trailer lights acted funky too...

Looking at cowl induction hoods, and want opinions on this one please.

Mel, that my friend, made me laugh pretty hard. :rotflmao How is the hood held up, prop rod or oem springs? I've gots to get me one. I love the look. One of my best friends has a 4" cowl on his Mustang, and when it's just sitting still idling, the heat coming out of the cowl is amazing...

    Do I NEED gauges??

The computer in a PSD has no means of detecting EGT, period. And secondly, no one posting in this thread was trying to put a chip in an IDI, as was mentioned in a few posts above. Rather than ask Andrew how he intends to use his truck, I would ask him to honestly characterize the way that...

    Do I NEED gauges??

So, let me get this straight. These IDIs won't run without gauges, and they run worse if you install a downpipe exhaust without gauges. cookoo That makes absolutely no sense. I can't follow your lack of logic here. I have gauges because I installed more than just an exhaust and intake...

    Do I NEED gauges??

Andrew, I agree with you. Hundreds of thousands of these trucks have run millions upon millions of miles with only the factory gauges. Nearly everyone will tell you that the first mods you should make are gauges. I totally disagree with them. As you alluded to, the gauges do absolutely...

    Gauge style

The gauge style you choose is a personal preference, and I hope that everyone is happy with his choice of Manufacturer and style. Because the title of this thread is "gauge style" I felt that a mention of Autometer is warranted. I chose Autometer because the colors that some of the...

Time for a New Trans,....and Motor!

Hey bro, I wasn't tryin' to slam you or anything, I was just doing the math and questioning the integrity of the seller. I have no doubt that what you said is what they told you. Gil

Looking at cowl induction hoods, and want opinions on this one please.

Exactly, the Dominator. But I'd really like to have a 4" cowl instead of 3", but that may be wishful thinking on my part because I can't seem to find one. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one from Bean at BDP because I trust him, he runs an honest, reputable business, but he hasn't started laying...

Time for a New Trans,....and Motor!

Let's see, the truck a 1985 model, therefore it is 20 years old, the previous owers owned it for 20 years and they are the second owner? :wtf: Is that right? Something here seems fishy to me. Gil

    Rear Locker In F350...........

I'm sorry that I can't recommend a particular locker, but I have never owned one, I've read alot about them, but reading isn't owning. However, one of my best friends used to have a 2-wheel drive truck with a locker and it was amazing the places that that truck could go through. He could go...

    Welcome all TDS refugees

I certainly do not fall into that classification. The day after all those idiotic changes back in February, I asked to be removed from the list of registered users and that all of my posts be deleted. I did not want my being registered to add to the total of Lord Lester's list of registered...

Looking at cowl induction hoods, and want opinions on this one please.

http://www.e-bodyparts.com/On-LineStore/ Title and link pretty much say it all. But what I'd really like is a 4" cowl. :Sly I've been searching the web and found Cervins and a few others, and this one caught my eye, but I haven't found a 4" one yet. The truck is going to get a fresh coat...

    Installing Remote Starter.....

The information is there for anyone to read, and if YOU had read it you would have known that this thread was started by Paul asking for assistance with installing a REMOTE STARTER, not a SECURITY SYSTEM. The next time you start to flame someone and act snooty and holier than thou, perhaps you...

Who is interested in cowl induction hoods?

Ryan, keep us posted. I'm very interested in a cowl induction hood, and the gauges would be awesome in my opinion. Oh and by the way, have you started selling IDMs yet? If you have, would you please send me an email with the price and such. I looked on your site and saw the IDM included in a...

Who is interested in cowl induction hoods?

My personal preference is for a 4" cowl induction hood. Ryan, will these hoods be strong enough to use the hood springs, or will they require a prop rod instead? My truck is going to be getting painted early this summer, therefore I'd like to have the hood before then, say around June. Gil

Bean is a master of the lost art of customer service

Folks, Ryan Bean's customer service and support is in my opinion, without peer. Check this out. I bought a TS 5 position from an authorized TS vendor in Michigan. When the chip arrived I promptly put it and $600 in a package and sent them to Ryan for a set of 160s and a reprogram. I never...

    3.55's instead of 4.10's

Divide the number of teeth on the ring gear by the number of teeth on the pinion if you remove the cover. Or you might try jacking up the truck, and of course placing it on jackstands, then using a piece of chalk to mark the tire at a specific location and also mark the pinion's yoke and the...

Who is interested in cowl induction hoods?

Liquid filled gauges don't fog and are sealed. Autometer used to make liquid filled gauges, maybe they still do, I don't know. Gil

    Tensioner up-grade

Hey Geo, I've thought about the dual pulley tensioner compared to the original single pulley, and I have a question. If the engine speed is the same aren't the pullies turning the same speed individually as the original single pulley tensioner? And if that is in fact the case where is the...

    Welcome all TDS refugees

I just now discovered this site. I see alot of names here that I haven't seen at TDS in a long, long time. I like what I've been reading here too. You folks seem to be much more laidback and carefree. I think I'll like it here. Gil
