I was wondering if anyone had figured out what the actual temps are for the "normal" meter in our trucks. Mine usually runs on "M" but if I'm working it hard it gets up to "A".
Yesterday I was towing a trailer up some hills and I was thinking it would be nice to know what that actual temps...
I've got an '84 6.9 NA with a 4 speed manual (T-19 I think) and it didn't come from the factory with a tach. I would like to go get a tach sensor and a gauge cluster from a junkyard and plug it in. Problem is....

I've been driving an '84 F250 6.9l for a month or two now and the previous owner wasn't the best at doing maintenance. I've been going through the truck doing routine maintenance and I would like to check the injectors to make sure they are all good. Do I need to build a "pop-tester" to do this...
So I've read that you can practically use any turbo in a IDI (mine's an '84 6.9l) as long as you are willing to do some fabrication... is this true? And if so, are some turbos going to be better suited for my diesel application than others are?
Here's where my question comes from...
I've noticed recently that when I'm driving my 84 6.9l under 5 mph, it seems like there is a little bit of intermittent "whining" noise coming from what sounds like the rear wheels... it also seems like there is a little bit of grabbing happening at the same time. I haven't pulled the drums off...
