No Filter for an old Banks turbo

OK, so it had a #41505 in it. Not a paper filter. Here's the rub: It doesn't fit even though that is what is called for. :idiot: It looks like it is off about 1/2" on the long side. I'm thinking on taking the dremmel after the inner lip on the bottom side. That will give me a little perssure...

No Filter for an old Banks turbo

Good point. A little permatex black should do.

No Filter for an old Banks turbo

Given my computer background, one would think that I could come up with this. I'm going to be replacing my fuel return lines on top of the motor today, so I'll look at what's written there. Cubey had a picture that looks like it would fit. Catbird showed what looks like my housing. A friend...

No Filter for an old Banks turbo

I have an older banks turbo and I can't find a filter for it anywhere. The PO stuffed a paper filter in there and crushed it in. Any Ideas for replacement? I've looked everywhere and no one makes anything that fits. I'm looking to go to a clamp on style. What type of solutions to this do you...

    Fuel filter Emergency fix

Keep in mind that this was a fast emergency fix. With that in mind, my hydraulics teacher (an old farmer) taught me if you are going to jerry rig something, do it right the first time. I set about some small modifications to this. The problems: 1. It still leaked. 2. The brass was too soft...

    Fuel filter Emergency fix

I was running around last Friday evening when I started to see steam and smell diesel. While it was still running, I popped the hood and looked. I immediately spotted the dreaded Fuel filter heater leak. Being a weekend coming up and no real suppliers for parts for my rig, I decided that I had...

    92 F350 starter problem

I brought it to my local mechanic. After about $500, I got a new starter and he fixed a loose wire on the other starter relay. He told me that my batteries are shot (2014), and that I should replace them. Any advice on good batteries for these beasts?

    92 F350 starter problem

Actually, I crawled underneath and looked, like I should have done in the first place. It's on the starter. The relay on the fender is for the glow plugs.

    92 F350 starter problem

I have a 92 f350 with the 7.3. My question isn't about the engine, but the starter. Here's the problem: About half way through a start the starter just quit. The batteries have enough juice. I'm thinking that it is the solenoid. Are these the one with the separate or the built-in units?
