Engine would be a dt360 at around 500hp max weight would be 30k if that makes a difference. Don't know how well the spicer could handle that much power
How do people like these transmissions. Was thinking about swapping one in a pickup was originally going to do a 10 speed but not having to have air in the 7 speed makes things a lot simpler. Doing a quick search it looks like they have a lot of problems and aren't as reliable as the eatons...
Don't know what weight. My dad got a security job at a coal mine and they have giant transformer s just laying around. They have a newer tag on them that says less then 50ppm pcb.
Will the front end of a 08-10 truck swap onto the 99-07 trucks and by front end I mean the whole core support and everything. The 08-10 truck have a few extra inches of room in the engine bay length wise because of the core support design and I would like to put it on an older truck. I plan on...
The dt360 is the superior engine but getting a mechanical fan to fit is the trick. I don't know how strong the front gearcase is but if it's strong enough you could mount a pulley in between the crank and water pump pulley onto the gearcase that would allow the fan to sit low enough to clear...
how exactly does the cummins have a higher upkeep expense. In terms of reliability the cummins is just as if not more reliable than the idi. For simplicity the cummins in the ford seems to be easier to work on. Deleting the glow plugs would make the idi a lot simpler how did you go about doing...
Is a cam worth it for an idi like a r&d stage 1 cam. Same with the injectors will stock ones work just fine at 325-350hp. Should the piston be shaved to lower compression or is the stock compression find for this hp range.
I will probably just put a 130 pump and a good turbo on my idi and if I find a good deal on a cummins engine I'll just do the swap. Eventually I'll get a 08-10 Ford and put a dt466 in it they fit know problem with a mechanical fan in the newer trucks
What kind of power can the 3582 and to4z support. Truck would have to be able to tow heavy so lag is a concern. Would the 3582 bolt up to the kit I currently have if not what would be required to make it work
I would be using the Power stroke rods. How does the 3582 turbo compare to a sxe 362 or 364 would either of those turbo s work with the hypermax turbo kit
Well, adding it up it seems it would cost around 8300 to build the idi the way I want it. It would be about 9000 to get the cummins in with all the conversion parts and performance parts including cost of engine so the price difference is not very big
The only ways I can see it be possible is with a very large body lift so the fan would not be sticking out the hood. Or a custom mount that mounts a pulley between the water pump and crank pulley that the fan attached to. Problem is there seems to not be very much room for a pulley between there...
