Thank you to Firehawk, TheWesPaul, and Agnem.

Wes recently helped me out also. I dropped in on him uninvited and without warning. He dropped what he had going and got my truck running much better and taught me a little bit. Great guy! I plan on bothering him in the future. Haha. This forum is the best.

    fuel heater bypass

To remove the fuel heater element out of the filter head, tap the hole, and put a pipe plug in it? If that's the case, it's a 1/2" npt tap. No need to drill, it is perfect for it. Tap it and then out in a cap or whatever you want to do. I did this and put in a pressure gauge for my lift pump.

    Horn issues

The cruise is still dead, but I think that's an entire different issue. Lol

    Horn issues

You, my good sir, are a freaking genius. I have been working on it and traced it down to the column losing ground when the key was turned. Your trick worked! Now to find a way for it to be permanent... Thank you.

    Horn issues

When I got my truck, the horn was bypassed to a push button on the dash. Cruise also doesn't work. I decided to try and fix that today. Pulled the steering wheel off and cleaned up the contacts really good and out it all back together. The horn works now!!! Until you turn the key. Horn works...

    Heater core delete or bypass?

Well, I have officially spent far too much money on this, but I love it. I grabbed a $50 coolant filter kit for a 6.0 truck off Amazon. I wasn't impressed with the quality of work as I had to chase all the threads and they were still pretty crappy, but it is a nice solid piece of aluminum and...

    Fuel heater leak air intrusion?

I understand how it introduces air while sitting. I was wondering if it did while running. Sorry. I wasn't clear. Oddly enough, my truck starts up great. Like, way better than any vehicle I have ever owned. Bump the key and it fires off... IDK. The leak is getting worse, spilling a lot of...

I plan on dropping by sometime just to learn more about these engines and shoot the breeze. And if poking around on my truck will help you help the idi community, I'm all in!

    Fuel heater leak air intrusion?

Ok, that's what I thought I was getting, but wasn't 100% sure. Think it's from the leak in the fuel heater? I have read a lot about fixing them, but none I have read say it fixed an air intrusion.

    Fuel heater leak air intrusion?

I have had issues with the fuel filter leaking for a while. The lower cap drain valve leaked and I had to put all the beans into screwing it on to seal the top...ish... After my truck sits for ~10+ hours, the first full minute has amazing power... And then it falls on it's face. The power is...

Congratulations on becoming a vendor! Do you know if the down pipe will fit on an ATS 088?

    Heater core delete or bypass?

I plan to revamp it later on. Mostly playing around and scraping something together from my local hardware store. I didn't think about making it all out of fittings. Good idea!

Love my truck but really want/need 4x4

X2 on finding a donor truck and making the truck you want and selling the "spare". If you can muster the right tools and a couple of friends, you would be surprised what you can do in a weekend. The best way to learn is jump in and do it.

Convince me this air box is trash

That is seriously the hardest thing I have had to do when working on this truck... And that is a testament to 2 things: 1: how stupid easy these are to work on. 2: how unnecessarily difficult it is to line up that elbow.

    Tach and gauges not working

When I got my truck (1898 f350 4x4), none of the gauges worked. At all. I pulled the cluster and cleaned it up real good with q-tips. Put it back together... Volt meter and fuel started to move around... Not consistent, though. New speedo cable brought back the speedo. I rolled the dice on...

Convince me this air box is trash

From what I have read, I have an .088 kit with a .085 air box? Exhaust side of turbo has ATS cast into it and looks to be slip in style pipe... Which is leaking like crazy. That's another job for another day. Anyway. This is the air box I have. I hear it's junk. Why? I'm fine with replacing it...

    Heater core delete or bypass?

Aesthetics are overrated... And most of us drive trucks that look like a brick. So I would assume I'm not alone in that statement. Function always wins over looks. I like the idea and will do the same.

    Heater core delete or bypass?

It is a rebuilt engine, who knows. If the fitting is 3/4, I will choke it down the 5/8 and run 5/8 the rest of the way so it's all uniform. You can see that they put on 2 hose clamps on the core to hold that 3/4 on. I followed suit on my fittings. Can't have too many clamps. I almost put a few...

    Heater core delete or bypass?

Here is what I ended up doing: I decided to let the coolant circulate because I plan on putting in a coolant filter one of these days. The line on the right is the line off the head (to core) and the "T" on the left goes into the line off the water pump (from core). So I can close the valve on...

    Heater core delete or bypass?

Which line should I block off? The one going from head to core or water pump to core?
