If he wants electric he can do it himself.im not into wiring and plumbing up an electric pump on a customers vehicle.
Cam lobe junk?put a cam in it or take to someone else.been a mechanic over 20 years,i don't have the patience for this shit anymore.
Finally got it running again.took the pump back off again and had my buddy crank it while I held the pump against the cam.had him stop and bolted it back on without moving it.
What a pita for a simple fuel pump replacement.
I don't really want to get into electric pump.id rather tow it to somebody else and let them deal with it at this point.i hurt too much for shit that wants to fight me.
Sadly,I do not have the patience or love for the cars like I used to.
Unfortunately it's a customer truck so electric is out unless it's the only option.
I'll have to squeeze my head in there to see what the lobe looks like later today .
That one won't work on it.i pulled it off to check to be sure it went under the cam.it won't suck on the engine but if u work it by hand it'll suck hard
I need a lift pump for a Customers truck.87-88 with a 6.9.
Everybody around me sells the same pump wich is wrong.the numbers on the old pump cross over to the incorrect pump
Problem is the arm.the one I need had a bend up with a 90° hook to it.the pump everybody is trying to sell me has an...
Need to swap pcm.need to run the 5speed programing.a chip programmed for a 5 speed truck will fix it as well.
Or let her lope.wont hurt anything.pcm doesn't know it's a five speed so it's hunting for an idle speed
Rarely have I ever seen the pump itself leak.check or replace all rubber connections.
The banjo bolt on the lines is known to leak.try tightening it a little as well.
On a 97 there is no sensor in the ebrake.the speed sensor is in the rear.
Now it is possible that someone may have swapped an early 87-91ish brake assembly into it.they are all the same 87-97.early years having the sensor.
It also possible somebody put a reman unit in it that required the...
Not making it up.you wont notice the power loss from a bad cps.that comes on gradually.but you will notice the increase in power from a new cps immediately.
I looked up rosewood yesterday as i thought they were the ones who had the kits so you could rebuild your own injectors to whatever size you wanted.they have nothing on thier site
