    10.25 complete axle replacement

You laugh but I've done it. Had a Mitsubishi fuso destroy the shackle pin frame mount, it was either remove the transmission to get to the frame rivets or Dremel through a 3 inch access. I used about 40 wheels and spent 8 hours but i got all 4 or 5 of them and bolted the new one in haha I...

I drove it around today and found the cowl hood dropped turbo inlet Temps approximately 30 degrees and intercooler outlet Temps around 15 degrees. I think the pipes themselves were getting heat soaked.

    10.25 complete axle replacement

Couldn't you just Dremel the race 90% through then hammer it with a chisel to get it to split?

I have one in my parts truck I'd let go for $100 if you pulled it yourself haha. Limited slip too

    10.25 complete axle replacement

Maybe it was parked on an angle and the water sat against the bearing and axle since it would have been heavier than oil. Or maybe it was a used axle and sat where it retained water somehow, or was left drained for a while. That is weird

Yeah iron oxide is no good for any metal wear parts. I clean iron from plenty of metals but wouldn't recommend the methods without the proper chemicals. The works toilet cleaner is 10% hydrogen chloride and it could be soaked in a solution with a gallon of that and 3 gallons of water...

I'd be more worried about the carrier bearings than ring gear. I've seen then pit up from water

Bubbles in coolant reservoir, blown head gasket? Cavitation? Something else?

Did you use that copper coat before? I've heard of the copper spray causing more problems then helping. I've never used it, it isnt necessary with head gaskets, only non gasketed heads like on some air cooled engines, but adding a dissimilar metal to a mating surface is never a good thing. I...

    10.25 complete axle replacement

I'm not familiar with these axles but arent they just splined with no c clips or anything? Can't you just remove the axle from the other side and slide a bar/rod through the diff and hammer it out? I think the spiders will stay in place?

I got home today and decided to put it on. I'd recommend you guys have a friend help you with these hoods they are decievingly awkward to remove and install by yourself. I did it without knicking any new paint but it would have been 10 times easier with a helper. I havent driven it yet so i dont...

Yes, though you really could have just used one to power both fans. You really don't need a high low setpoint

Banks Turbo / Oil Pressure Guage Reading

I've been chasing some oil pressure issues and that switch is definitely lower than 7 psi, i'd say 4 psi. I see my oil pressure at the turbo block drop as low as 5psi hot and my gauge will still read in the middle of normal. At first was using a glow shift gauge but it would drop to 2 or 0 psi...

Does the Steering Stabilizer actually do anything?

Haha well i just did new upper, lower balljoints, inner outter tie rods, bearings redhead gear steering box and borgeson steering shaft, new lines, and 5k ago i did new front spring, seats, shocks, sway bar bushings and links, both sets of bushings on the beams. It steers fine and drives...

    10.25 complete axle replacement

You're talking about changing over the entire axle right? not trying to use the differential and pinion in housing? The only diference i would think would be the possibillity of different drums/shoes size but i think at DRW got the larger pads, and if it had an ambulance package which has...

Does the Steering Stabilizer actually do anything?

My 2wd dually had a steering stabilizer when i go it, i put a new one on it it in the same place but it doesnt look like it came from the factory. Is this something that needs to be installed? I have literally all new front end parts, i still feel the steering could be better/have better feed...

What is the correct replacement for the 093 turbo to down pipe clamp

I've removed mine a dozen times, i dont feel it seals very well, the toggle bolt has to be held in place. What is a good replacement part for this clamp that will help seal? Or the Ford part number? Thanks!

If he really wanted to test it he can strip that cable back further and bring it up the outside of the battery terminal and vise grip it to the battery post with his ground jumper . Provided there is bare copper under the unstripped cable

If moisture got in, the corrosion is going to happen where the two dissimilar metals contact, inside of the lead connector. Lead is less noble than copper and is going to corrode in the presence of moisture. I bed it's failed inside of the lead terminal.

I bought a "new" dB electrical starter and it had a dead spot. New doesn't mean good. Do you have an ammeter to test the draw? I second the cable being corroded inside of the lead part.

I read the instructions that came with it and it didnt mention cutting it. I figured when i paid almost $300 for a part, that would require no extra effort on their part to make the correct length, would come as it should be installed. Sure it's easy enough to cut but i assumed it was designed...

BNR makes them. Fit fine with all factory connectors. I ran a 2 gauge wire from it to the battery. The pulley is a little smaller so I ended up having to run a slightly shorter belt to keep the tensioner at half tension, with the factory 111.5" belt there was only about 1/2" of tension on it and...

That's weird. You'd think they'd sell the right unit cut as it should be. As precisely engineered as it is. What a pain, now I gotta pull my steering box and shaft again.
