The idle does NOT have any high idle anything, where the idle lies is where it lies. What happens a lot is the bolt that is used as the idle stop gets worn off from vibration. sounds like you need to bump the idle up. If memory serves correctly it takes a 10mm wrench.
I don't have any answers...
Yep normal.... Both the idi and the cummins did it. Idi did it a bit more. Cummins wou d but it would be a very very small spot maybe two drops. I contdibuted this to it was a lower compression moter.
I'm going to go against the popular consensence here and tell you I ran them flor many years in the Enterprise. Actually ran them for more miles than I did any other brand. What I found that kills glow plugs is these things... Too long a burn time ( plain overheat the plug) and tkming that was...
yes. it will lower the low end but not much. anything larger diameter will kill mileage and lower the low end even further.... at least it did on my cummins.
Never did on the enterprise and never had a problem. I watched how far I shoved the drain tube in the vally though so that I gave ample room for the oil to exit the tube. Dont know if that was the secret or not. But never had problems.
Yep ran them on the Enterprise and they were worth it. I will recomend having the tires balance when installed then after that dont worry about balance until new tires are installed. The thing about centramatics is they balance the entire rotating assembly not just the tire rim combo. Took thee...
Thought I was going to be able to make it this year as I'm off this coming weekend.... but..... I'm sadly not going to be able to make it. I got family coming into town this coming weekend so I will be visiting with them. We will have to meet up another time.
I found this while doing a search for it on google...
http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/94-98-powertrain/236551-fuel-shutoff-solenoid-electrical-issue.html
It's a double solenoid coil. One coil is not enough to pull it up to actually turn the fuel on so for an instant both coils are energized then one will drop off while one coil stays on. I don't have an wiring schematic handy as I'm at work and sold my Cummins long ago but a haynes manual will...
Ok I'm OFF that weekend - we will be there - not sure how many I will be bringing along.... might just be myself - might be me and the kiddies - but either way I'm there... That should be my weekend for the kids if she doesn't keep them because of it being the weekend following Sherm's Bday...
YES!!!!! Looks like fun Darrin. She sounded great in the video - you looked like you were taking a sunday drive as you set so calmly in the drivers seat all laid back - lol....
I do believe that SBC is a modified LUK - the fingers on the pressure plate have been modded to add additional clamping force... but don't quote me on that I just know that is what they do with the ones for the IDI's years ago... I assume it's still the same. Because Geo purchased one years ago...
haven't the slightest guess as to amount of power (numbers) but I always figured it didn't matter what the numbers were as long as it was enough power for me - if I needed more I would add something to get there and didn't care about the numbers. you should do pretty well with the stock sticks...
yes on the wheel spin.... ask the guys that were at the IDI weekend following the purchase of the truck (that was dogcatchers first rally ) - I was giving rides left and right and leaving a ton of rubber out front of the campground. it's not some internet story... you can do that with the mods I...
I tore my tranny apart a few times.... you can read about that saga here on this website but it boils down to the ole standard 5th gear failure and once.... once.... I welded it in place and well then a few thousand miles later it failed again but this time it broke the mainshaft in half...
SBC - South Bend Clutch. I had some problems with mine but they DID stand behind it and I wasn't even the original purchaser of the clutch - can't ask for better service than that. Heck when I called them I wasn't asking for Peter to cover the clutch I was asking him since this one didn't hold...
What can I say I like the dodge, love the Cummins - I like the Ford, I will always have a soft spot for the IDI in my heart. Does that mean I have to give one up and not enjoy the other......
Guess some people can only have one brand or one type... me I like 'em all....
The vehicle doesn't...
I'm starting to look around for a 2nd gen dodge with a banger... I really miss the cummins power and fuel mileage. The Nanny goat would net 22 on a regular basis and if I kept my foot out of it on the highway she would get me 24. I loved the fact that I had all that power on tap and still had...
Ok buddy here at work has a '90 F800 with a cummins 6.6l that the oil cooler is leaking - I seen it and it ain't pretty - the tube is rotted out on the side and we are looking for replacement - basically he doesn't want to spend 700 clams on one.
Well boys and girls... The E2 was transfered to her new owner today - sold it to my neighbor here in the campground. So now the fun begins to start looking for another truck. Me thinking another 6 banger....
