Good to know, thank you! Will make my job easier, I figured I’d doom the whole project by connecting my 12g wire to the 16g pigtails on the headlights.
Ill check the switch to, glad it’s worked out good for you.
Got the dimmer switch in yesterday without tearing the floor up, and there was no rust underneath there which was nice to see. Greased below the switch for good measure.
I’m using 12g wire from the relay to the lights and will be...
The headlights only turned off once for about a second, so today I’m gonna tackle the headlights relay mod.
While I’m at it I figured I should replace and the dimmer switch on the floor and I’m not sure if it’s necessary to do the actual headlight switch to.
Would you guys do the headlight...
I’ve read that about some additives to. Overall happy with the 1st report, thankfully no antifreeze or diesel fuel in the oil!
Time will tell what’s normal for my engine, it runs great and sounds good to. Initially I was overly concerned when I first reviewed the report, after reading a...
I realize after searching the hell out of this forum and bobistheoilguy that there’s no need to get overly concerned.
This forum is a literal goldmine of information and I don’t want to be “that guy” who posts redundant threads when they should have simply invested more time researching...
Good point, he towed his boat and travel trailer with it before he got sick and it sat for a while. I’ve put about 7k miles on it over the last 1 1/2 years.
Will do, I’ll search the forum more tonight and read up on it.
Thanks for posting, I was a bit alarmed when I saw the lead reading. Original engine with 103,000 miles on it. It was my grandad’s truck.
not sure why the lead was higher than average, it’s a lower mileage engine. Any of y’all ever see lead values this high.
Since this report I had switched oil from Chevron 15w-40 SDE CK4 to Motorcraft oil and had always used a Motorcraft Filter.
before?
Finally installed an oil and water gauge. Took my time and did it right because I hate doing something twice.
Was pleased with the readings and I did keep the factory gauges working just because 2 sets of gauges beats 1 set.
Although I expected the oil line to immediately fill up with oil...

Ok, I’m thinking it’s just the plastic dash trim over the instrument panel that’s making that squeaking and rattling noise intermittently.
Now that I have finally have a matched set of Delphi BB code injectors that truck has an entirely new type of vibration...way smoother!
Have never heard this noise before, doesn’t sound like engine or drivetrain noise. Anybody ever hear anything like this?
I had replaced the speedo cable about 6 months back and wondering if it might be related to the noise as it’s coming from that area.
Around 20seconds and 28seconds it first...
That seat cover works alright now after my wife added some more straps to keep the back portion of it from sliding down...kept sliding down because of the cardboard on the backside of the seat
