    Got my new water pump installed, used rtv on the bolts which needed it. Problem is I had damaged my water pump pulley. So tonight I am still looking for the o.g. part # and am wondering if a 460 “3” V-Belt pulley is the same as our diesels. Or if anyone has one they’d sell them hit me up, thanks

    Y’all ever use a laser thermometer and check the temps of the hubs? Shot mine today after a 20mile trip, was 125*F at the base of the hub at the rim and 110*F near the chrome ring. Might have been hashed out here before but didn’t see any hits on my search. More than anything was looking at...

    That clutch fork pivot ball and clutch fork get worn down pretty bad too, something to keep in mind. A lot of folks don’t keep that pivot ball to clutch fork contact point greased and it gets gouged out pretty bad

    Spent a majority of my life in Alaska, always had IDI’s in the family. I recall some crazy cold starts, Good times for sure. If you look closely around the chrome by the hood you’ll see the snaps installed by Cal Worthington Ford of Anchorage back in Feb ‘83 for the radiator cover.

    On my mid-tronics tester I’ve seen batteries test with correct voltage but way low on the cca’s, also in my experience it’s best to pull them out individually to test them in the future. I’ve seen lots of folks run the Legend batteries from NAPA (East Penn/Dekka) that held up reliably for...

    I tend to run in the lower rpm range, probably being over cautious but cant get over this gut feeling that an engine only has so many rpms to give in its life cycle.
