    Fuel and oil addatives

I never tried Hotshots but I think it's main claim is the same as Archoil, a stiction eliminator. That's the bane of 6.0 injectors, so whatever you use for it can't hurt.

    Fuel and oil addatives

I use Archoil 9100 in the oil and 6200 in the fuel. I can't say for sure if it does anything, but I haven't had any problems yet. For what I spent on the motor I consider it cheap insurance.

    In over my head.

As I said I'm not a 7.3PS guy, never worked on one just my 6.0 and the IDI's. Agree about tools, that's what made me fall for the IDI (after the PS) cause it's just so simple especially after a 6. So I don't have any specific tips, but generically you should start with a ODB2 bluetooth plug and...

    In over my head.

That makes it tough if you have no tools. Not to plug another forum on here but you might get more help with that on powerstroke.org, there's lots of 7.3PS ppl over there.

    In over my head.

I'm a 6.0PS and IDI guy mainly but I think you can do it on a 7.3PS with a deep socket and a flex head ratchet.

Google 7.3l Powerstroke IPR and see if that's what you're looking for.

So what did you do with your truck today?

I feel for ya bro I've had both sides blasted, it puts just about everything else on hold for a while hope the worst is over and good luck w/ the project.

    Project Big Red

I had to replace one of those spare lock keys on a truck that came without one, it was actually a lot easier than I thought. The locks are all made by McGard Co. You can call them and send a pic like the one you have there that shows the pattern to their email, they can match it up to one of the...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I got it on Ebay but it's a genuine Borgeson. It's a collapsible shaft, as much as I like the feeling of security about the truck I'm not keen on having it collapse my chest. It's a "universal fit" and requires you cut the DD tube to length and drill for the retaining bolt, but it's a easy job...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Replaced sloppy steering shaft with broken flat spring with a new Borgeson upgrade.

    Lower steering shaft repair/ replace

Mine broke the flat spring in the collapsible shaft. I have the Borgeson replacement, got it fitted in today except for the part where they have you file a new flat for the retaining bolt on the steering box shaft and not use the flat already there. This is to maintain a mechanical lock since...

What's a top dollar IDI worth?

It's mine :Thumbs Up Had a little trouble with the delivery, they kinda smashed it :/ At least it was just the headlights and grille, hopefully someone will make good on it but it's only plastic at least. It's in as good of shape as I hoped, there's no rust on the cab at all and only a light...

"93 7.3 N/A need advice no turn over

At least some sandpaper. With a new starter and a good battery it's a bad ground 99% of the time, either battery to frame or frame to block.

"93 7.3 N/A need advice no turn over

Did you clean the frame to battery ground lugs and frame to block? i mean like with a grinder and back together tight

    DD/Worktruck build

Nice looking truck and great pics thanks! I'm new to these engines too and I have just what you're doing here in my near future only I'm lucky enough to wait for winter to end to do it, it's nice to see some detailed shots of what I can expect before I dive in. Good luck with it!

I tell her it has to be reliable so nothing keeps us apart. She rolls her eyes, I buy my stuff, every1's happy :D That's a beautiful looking motor coming together there.

What's a top dollar IDI worth?

I agree it's what it is worth to the buyer that counts. I bought this today for $7800, 1993 F-250 7.3IDI N/A ECLB 4x4 with what appears to be a dealer dually conversion, plus paying 700 to have it shipped from Fla to NJ. I have all kinds of reasons for wanting this. I learned to drive in my...

What's a top dollar IDI worth?

It would have to be like a blue ribbon winning show truck at that price.

    Yet again possible truck

South Texas it's probably not even rusted. $1200 for something like that with 4x4 to boot is what we call a steal grab it.

Is this IDI the right truck for me?

It's interesting there's a long thread on the Powerstroke forum "why would anyone buy a new truck" and it got a little heated at times but the interesting part is the baseline for an "old truck" in that discussion is a new body style powerstroke 7.3, with the "news" going up to '19 Platinum. A...

Is this IDI the right truck for me?

I have a Powerstroke 6.0 and I love it for what it is. I really wouldn't want to tow the 5th wheel through the mountains with the IDI. I also have a (new to me) '91 IDI and I've totally fell in love with that engine. After building the 6.0 I just love the simplicity of the IDI and the wannabe...

Is this IDI the right truck for me?

IMO the best reason to get an IDI is because you really particularly want a IDI, and not just a "work truck" because as was noted you can get a Powerstroke for that $ or less. After that the best reason to pay that much is because it's rust free. Bushings and bearings and stuff you can pretty...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Yes small world. Not far from there closer to town is my old stomping grounds on the reservoir by the dam and back by the brick pits on the other side :P Think that's all developments now but we used to dirt bike and bushwack all over back there

What is the value of my truck for private party sale?

Are you just trying to help on the qt and selling this private? I know some ppl who have raffled off cycles for charity stuff if you have someone with enough "social media presence" to get it rolling gets a lot of donations from ppl even if they don't actually want the item.
