All me springs have arrived and I was finally able to install the front axle with 4.10 gears! Progress feels nice. Now I just have to press the ball joints into the knuckles and reassemble the rest of the new front end goodies.

E4OD from a 92 f350 4x4.
I'm pulling it out in the next week or so and putting in a zf5 (personal preference)
it works no noises. $300.

Tearing apart my springs to add a leaf. My buddy says this is fatigue cracking and my springs should be replaced....

So some of this stuff is so rusted I had to cut it off with the torch. I'm putting bushings in the springs adding a leveling kit and if course about to reassemble the front axle. But helps to have springs first.

Bed and fenders are in great shape for its age. Some small tears in front stake pockets easily fixable.
Only piece missing is the Tailgate. $400

Ok so been making some progress here and there! Every bout and bolt on this thing is rusted tight even with PB blaster soaking overnight!
I got the front axle out and disassembled and I'm in the process of cleaning everything up and getting prepped for re installation. I got a set of used 4.10...
And so more parts! I'm replacing both spindles and uhoints are toast too. Is there an inner grease seal I'll need to replace after I clean out the axle tubes? There's a lot of junk inside! Pic soon.

You're good. I finally went and checked its there. I'd been spending so much time on the front side of the axle I had completely overlooked it. Haha!

So as part of my front end rebuild I'm going to swap in some 4.10 gears from a buddy and I'll paint and clean up the rest of the axle. My buddy asked me, isn't there supposed to be a sway bar or something? I wasn't sure I don't see any proof of a front sway bar ever being on this truck...
I've never experienced a leaking freeze plug. But also isn't it possible a head gasket could leak out and not into the cylinder?

Well after getting into the brakes I decided I'm going to need new spindles, ball joints, one Hub and both U joints in the axle. So After all that junk I can finally hopefully maybe get going onto the transmission swap! I'll post some pics this weekend!
I agree. I have not completed mine yet. But iirc there is a great tutorial for it on here. And I think there was even a write up about it in 4wd magazine. Google it. Lots of info. And it's not an expensive swap.

Pulley just pulls off. But you can get an electric vacuum pump too.
Also if you're brakes suck you can convert to hydroboost. That's what I'm doing

Well. I'm finally ordering wheels and tires. Decided on 35/12.5/17 tires on 17x9 wheels. This will help with towing and hopefully I can still get into the garage.
I spent $1000 on all new brake parts and shocks and steering arms. I'm pulling apart the hubs and find the right front hub is...
Front is a single wheel axle already. With a stock steel wheel with a 285 on it. Far as I can tell lugs are the same.

Ok guys so I'm getting ready to do the transmission.
But I'm gonna need something to roll this beast around on, and I'm going a very unconventional route. I want to Run Singles and keep my dually rear end and dually bed. My question is given the wider rear end, what offset should I run on a...
Got the motor stuff finished and cleaned up some of the wiring.
Now time to move on to the hydroboost conversion and if course the zf5 swap!

It did have cable driven. I'm hoping to be able to connect it to the transfer case. I'll know more when I yank it all out in the next couple weeks.

Well while doing fuel return lines I got in a fight with the #1 injection line. It's twisted but not linked or broken. Debating on replacing it or just putting it back on. I know it's really high pressure, thoughts???
