I have a new cooling system and half a shroud due to the body lift. Maxed out pump? Does that mean you turned the fuel as far as it will go? I'm down to try anything but I think I'd want an intercooler first. Besides if it heats up it's easy to pull out if the throttle. Sent from my iPhone...- morgankshaw

Yeah. My truck weighs 6700 and the trailer sticker says 4800 dry. I might have to take it across the scales and verify that. So I'm at a supposed 12,000? Should be fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- morgankshaw

Yeah but I figure if I'm 1100 or so on the flats. It's gonna melt down if I go up any hills. Sounds like conservative fixes for me would be to recheck seals and look for any boost leaks. Get an intercooler and possibly an upgraded pump and injectors set. Agreed? Maybe gearing isn't as necessary...- morgankshaw

That 093 does have a wastegate am I correct? Truck feels pretty good empty but like I said I have no comparison. I was also surprised at the jack of power. I'm not afraid to throw on a new fuel system and some parts. But I don't want to waste my money if it's not going to help. You're right we...- morgankshaw

I had the timing verified but it's right at 9 and I turned up the pump almost half a turn. Smokes now where before it never did. It tows much better than before but still not what I'd hope for. Of course my last truck was a new ram 2500 cummins and I was probably spoiled..... long story short my...- morgankshaw

Ok. That's what the math tells me I'll be back to if I adjust the gearing. I'm thinking if I can't get the power i need 4.56 won't kill me if I upgrade to a cummins in the future especially if I go with even bigger tires. Hey guys. Trying to determine what to do to improve my towing. Here's the lowdown: 87 f350 with a 92 7.3 ats turbo zf5 trans 35/12.5/17 tires measure 33.5 with a tape and straight edge 4.10 gears 4x4. The truck feels like it struggles towing my 5000lb toy hauler. In the hills it's horrible...- morgankshaw

Good Zf5 rebuilder
I had them combine two trannies I had, they used parts from both to build up one good one. Then they measured all the clearances and put it back together. Luckily I didn't need any new parts. Kept the cost then. I think he said a full rebuild with new everything is around $1200. ??? Anyway...- morgankshaw
