    DT466 realities...

    SUPERCHARGE ME

What are you wanting to do with the supercharged 6.9? Will it be for towing, or just to impress the kids on Main street Saturday night, or ??? I am actually a proponent of using a SC, but only for 2 purposes: 1. Increase off-idle and low rpm torque for towing heavy 2. Spin a bigger than...

http://www.inforanger.roadranger.com/epc/index.asp Use that link to find the parts breakdown, then order from a distributor. Call around as there is quite a mark-up and some guys have wayyy better pricing for average Joe... The OD kit is K-2019. The 1.75" input shaft is S-1255.

    DT466 realities...

The plunge has been taken now... just ordered a kit to turn my RT-6610 into an RTO-6610 along with a new 1.75" input shaft, a 14" pull type clutch kit, release arm bushings and a new pilot bearing. Deadline for completion is June 1st... Maybe we should move this over to conversions?

    DT466 realities...

They range from 170 to 300hp depending on the configuration. This one is a 210hp. The torque these make is the real reason to use one. My goal is 300Hp and 750 ft/lbs of torque. Should pull anything I ever hook up and still be dead reliable. My truck and trailer are 20K. These motors are...

    DT466 realities...

We're about to find out... In all seriousness, I may have to do some 'custom' work to keep the defrost and heater ducting going where it is supposed to. The quality of those customizations will determine how well this whole idea turns out.

    DT466 realities...

Well, it turns out to be a 'B' block DTA466. Looks like it has the MW pump. The aftercooler really sticks up, so I may need to find a normal intake manifold.:D We rolled into the old homestead about 12:30 last night after a nice police officer stopped us for dragging chains and making...

    DT466 realities...

I will be using an RTO-6610. SAE #2...supposed to bolt right up. Will have to do divorced transfer case, but have not figured out which one yet... somehow my 205 seems too small now.

    Started my DT360 swap yesterday

Not sure if the gap would be a big deal, but going to a 54 with one tooth removed is a cog every 3.33 degrees. The stock set-up is looking at a cog every 3.396 degrees. Off a little... but maybe not enough to worry about.

    DT466 realities...

That is good to know. Thanks again. Now I just need to get the seller to call me back! Its about 3 hours each way, so it would suck to go all that way for nothing. Hope to go get it tomorrow right after work.

    DT466 realities...

Thanks Heath. I was hoping you would weigh in. Do you know if a "B" block can be upgraded to roller lifters? I guess for the price it is worth the risk. Wish me luck! ;Sweet

    how much? $

Summit has the Painless wiring harness for the CRD dodge swap for about $1000. There is a burned down '05 near me for $5500 that is stripped down to the frame, so I looked into this option. Swapping the entire CRD drivetrain and then the wiring would put you at least $7K. A little too rich for...

    DT466 realities...

I need some good feed back from some of you who's opinions I have learned to trust. :hail I need to make a decision before Thursday night. I've been offered a DT466 mated to a 5 speed for $1K. It was in a "cab-over" farm truck that was wrecked on the drivers side. Claims it only had 70K miles...

    Water-Meth Injection in a 6.9l idi

I set mine up to spray at 90 degrees to the flow of air in the hopes that it would get the best distribution across the motor that way. Mine uses one of Russ' (type4) elbows for the intercooler, so it was pretty easy. Looking at my old snail I think I would drill it right below where the...

    Water-Meth Injection in a 6.9l idi

Right into the "snail" or as close to the intake as you can get it. I chose to put the shut-off solenoid as close to the nozzle as possible to prevent any chance of siphoning which could result in hydrolocking and damaging your motor.

    Water-Meth Injection in a 6.9l idi

Yes, I wanted the CM5 shown here: http://www.coolingmist.com/pagedisplay.aspx?pid=13NCM5&feature_key=special_injectors The kit comes with a CM10 which I think is too big for an IDI.

    Water-Meth Injection in a 6.9l idi

About 6-7 psi. That way it didn't use any meth cruisin' around. Only came on when you got on it or was towing.

    Water-Meth Injection in a 6.9l idi

This is the kit I am running: http://ktperformance.net/i-6683801-coolingmist-stage-i-diesel.html Its a bit over $250. ($284) They were good to work with- I called and asked for a smaller nozzle size than what it comes with standard; they swapped it out with no charges or problems.

    Water-Meth Injection in a 6.9l idi

I think the big danger is peak cylinder pressures go way up as you add more meth. Stay conservative and stud your motor before pushing it hard is my .02 cents. My system works great and the EGTs all but stop climbing when it kicks in. Its a shame I didn't get the studs done before I...
