    CNG Injection

It is funny, but with modern electronics it is possible to differentiate between normal diesel combustion noises and other issues.

Zf5 swap or ring and pinion change.

I second this question?? My '86 with 3.54 gears and the C-6 screamed for mercy at any speed over 60 MPH. The guy I bought it from told me it had 4.11 gears, but when I pulled the cover they were indeed 3.54s. I love the ZF-5 swap. Made the truck much, much more enjoyable to drive and tow...

    CNG Injection

Nope. There are lots of installs that have been running for years. The CNG is controlled flow, not just rampant fuel input. Some kits use a stepper motor, some use vacuum referenced from ahead of the turbo. Once the pressure is dropped from 3000psi the rest of the system is the same as propane...

    CNG Injection

The guys selling them say they are safe... but you must consider that most of their customer's trucks don't run as high of compression ratios as a good ole torquey IDI. It may ok at a low level, but who wants to be the guy that finds out what that level is?

    CNG Injection

Not true. Look at Deluca CNG systems. He has gone over 70% CNG into a Dmax using a simple mixer pre-turbo. He used to have some good pictures of his set-up on the net, but he has taken them down now that he is making money on the systems. His new system uses a knock sensing device to actually...

    CNG Injection

I am looking seriously at doing this also. Many CNG stations here and the price is around $1.43 GGE right now. To the OP: You don't need to do anything with the diesel fueling on your truck. The amount of fuel will be controlled by the throttle pedal. When CNG is flowing you will only need to...

460 overheated slightly- now new noise and runs rough.

I think you are right. I changed the oil and filters (and the leaking valve cover gasket) and it seemed better until I took it on the freeway. On a 40 mile leg it used 3 quarts, so I am sure its toast. Its only down on power a little, which is surprising. The blow by is tremendous. The hard...

    From 460 to IDI

Yes they are different. My '57 is built on a motorhome chassis. The advantage is that a bigger downpipe fits a lot easier. Taking the front suspension out would seem to be a very hard way to do it. I can see where you are coming from though.

    From 460 to IDI

Alot. But it is doable. I think you will need to pull the trans out from under neath, but the motor will need to go in through the grill. What motor is in the motorhome now?

    LOKKA?

Yep. He asked about lockers. I just wanted to make sure he understood that.

460 overheated slightly- now new noise and runs rough.

1994 F-250 460/E4OD Pulling a 5er over a high pass last weekend I looked down and saw that my temp gauge was seriously past the 'normal' and heading for the red. The next pull out was at the top of the hill so I had to make it there as traffic was heavy and there are no safe places to stop...

    LOKKA?

I have bought an installed a Truetrac. It worked really well off-road and had good road manners, but it will allow some slip- some don't consider it a full locker.

    HE351VE Remote Mount Turbo

Sorry to hear about your back. Let it heal! I just made a similar decision... the Dt project is taking longer than anticipated and not having a truck was becoming an issue, so I bought a cheap truck to get me by for a bit. Its a '94 460/ E4OD; it was cheap cause nobody wants to feed her, but...

    Battery grounds

Either way should work, but if you use the frame as the ground conduit you double your chances of failure with the extra connections. What about coming out of the bed and grounding to one of the bellhousing bolts, then running a ground from there to the frame?
