I'd be curious to see what the ford charger would do with the gate wired shut. I know it made a difference in a friends truck from just being unhooked to being anchored shut. The WG was being blown open by drive pressure fairly early and made response somewhat laggy. With it tied shut, the...
Not sure of the specs on the banks charger... but the ATS unit could just have a larger turbine or more efficient compressor.
It doesn't surprise me all that much that they made similar power numbers. Boost doesnt make power... fuel does. You had the same amount of fuel on each occasion...
Putting a load on it helps yes... get EGTs up over 1k with some weight in the truck and it'll help clear it up.
Water/Meth injection does help a good bit.
A bump in timing will also help a lot as oil has more energy but burns slower.. advancing the timing helps get a cleaner, more complete...
Keep in mind.. boost is restriction... and turbochargers have efficiency ranges. The stock chargers were designed to be efficient in the 10-12psi range. Sure you can drive them harder and get more boost out of them... but efficiency drops off quickly and they become giant heat pumps...
Can you post a video of how it runs.. how it revs and how it idles? If timing is THAT far off... It would be easy to hear.
I'd start off by putting a locking fuel cap on for giggles. Someone may be borrowing fuel without your knowledge.
Anyone know where I can find an all aluminum radiator for a '93 E350?
I can find them for the older body style.. and the 95+.....
Could have one custom made as PRC is just a few miles from the house... but that would be costly and would like to avoid that if I can.
Thanks
Simple green works just as well. Pick your poison basically. The chemicals in the dishwasher powder will still break down oil. Cap the radiator and slosh it around ever so often while it's soaking... With what ever you choose to use.
If you want cheap for transfering oil, a big block chevy oil pump. Drill 2 holes in the case and braze/weld some 1" pipe nipples to each side as inlet/outlet. Plug the factory inlet/outlet and bypass. The shaft is 1/2".. get a 1/2" lovejoy and run it off a 1/3hp motor. It'll empty a 55...
Well... our plans changed and we ended up getting given an IDI short bus. We'll have 120 gallon tank on board in doors so no worries anymore.
Some interesting ideas here though.
The motor I use has thermal protection. We dropped the belt ratio because the motor kept tripping the thermal switch after a couple hours.
Now we process at 90-95psi for 48 hours straight. After 48 hours, there is typically 3/8"-1/2" of gunk in the 'fuge bowl that gets scrapped away. This...
Simple green or cascade dishwasher powder... cap it.. fill it up and let it soak. May have to do it several times but it'll get it all out.
Then flush it with lots of water... then I'd do a few distilled water flushes before putting it to use.
... ok school me here...
what's the rock salt do? absorb moisture or....? How often do you change it out?
I've always been a bit nervous when it comes to heating large quantities of waste oil to remove water.
I run one from a ford focus. remote reservoir.. 1/2" or 5/8" shaft (cant recall). I belt drive it with a 1/3hp motor.. slightly smaller pulley on the motor.
I used some AN fittings and adapted to hydraulic hose. It'll run my 'fuge for days on end at 95psi and can EASILY blow the o-rings if...
My injectors were unknown mileage and such... I was running a flat plate heat exchanger and injector line heaters.
I think my mistake was some short trips... after that, it went down hill. NEVER make short trips on oil... engine doesnt get warm enough for complete combustion. I'd say...
Is it some form of stainless mesh? It'll be hard to say on micron rating without knowing how tight the weave is and such. Do you have any pictures of the actual discs?
Btw... Your setup looks IDENTICAL to my '75 240d.
Careful... Some reason, mine liked to easily coke injectors. It hasn't been ran in a while now because it needs injectors BAD. Think I'm gonna build a set with bosio nozzles. We'll see one of these days.
Typically, we blend by half filling the 'fuge drum... Adding 5 gallons of gas... Then filling the drum to ~ 2" under the flange. Fuge' spins up nice and the trucks drink it from early spring til late fall. I'd go heavier on the RUG during cooler months for sure.
Run the 'fuge at 90-95psi and...
Hey guys...
I was in need of a fan clutch so started looking around...
Just ordered one for my '90 F350.. Motorcraft YB467
$67 shipped.
Just figured I'd give a heads up as that's CHEAP.
I compared the Hayden part numbers for 1990 and 1993 (my engine is a '93). Hayden uses the same clutch...
