Thanks for the feedback
How about RD2-90 with Stock New Stanadyne Code E with the sidewinder that is in place
What kind of warenty they offer and do I have to send my OEM pump?
I have checked the http://www.idiperformance.com in the past and considered their RD2-90 Injection pump , Honestly i totally forgot about them until you mentioned them, looking at their injectors but i could not find any feedback here on the RD2 pump if its paired with either of their stage one...
Not cheap out or cutting corners by any means I was extremely curious about how they are legitimate .
There is no other place to find the real truth but here
As i was browsing the WWW to look get my self up to speed on diesel injectors types , codes and pop test tool . i cam across a diesel shop in Bitely MI by the name accurate diesel . They charge $29.95 for Testing all your 8 injectors ( pop pressure, leakage, chatter) and that includes...
Thanks Gary .. I was going to try a
Set of BB code if I can find them since I have Banks turbo Or might stick with these E codes depends on the pop test result
So far every thing came out nicely
placed eng little pass TDC as I was doing some pushrods and rocker work
loosened the 8mm 12 point bolts @ the front of IP cover , removed the 3 nuts holding the pump and she came right out .. all injectors are out and they look like shitz ... what's the E...
Every thing is technically coming off
IP
Injectors
Intake
Fuel filter
Pump and injectors are going out for rebuild
I found the injectors are Stanadyne stamped with Letter E Are those turbo injectors or not
I figured since pump is out is To clean the intake put a new aftermarket VP that...
Most likely it's the original VP
What's all involved in removing the VP and replacing it with new one ?
Do I need a special RTV or specific steps to follow or it's as simple as removing bolts ,old VP replace , install intake
Well the Game plan will be to Pull the IP and Injectors ..Send them out for the royal treatment . Then Rent the timing tool from icanfixit .
What you guys think or how much involved since i will have the IP out is to remove , clean and replace the Valley Pan .
Do they sell an aftermarket VP...
Mel it was great talking to you this afternoon . I use Blackstone with my small VW TDI diesels as the PD engine known for cam wear specially if the correct oil wasn't used
They offer great analysis that's for sure ..
After I spoke to you I decide that the moose Jr will be the pump for me but...
Don't think it's passing the Turbo seal as the hot side of the turbo not stained with oil am not seeing any sign of it , i posted a pic post #45 where most the oil stain is covered half the turbo hat going to the intake and i see oil around and under the hat .
Not sure if this ireleivant...
Agreed and I was relieved to know but where is all that oil that collected in the CDR and pooling in the compressor side causing the turbo hat to be wet.
I think I am side tracked from the original issue the high amount of smoke the truck produce when I ran it around 2k RPM in the previously...
Here is the compression numbers
Driver side front piston to Back near the fire wall
400,400-405,400 & 350
Passenger side in the same order
400, 400-410, 405 and 400
Well that's good cause they are a Pain in the xx to pull each one by it self and they all already out on the bench
Waiting on a compression tester from a friend
Greeting
Hope every one had a great holidays..
I am back and started to pick up where I lifted off with trouble shooting.
I drove right before the holidays about 325 miles round trip and had Zero coolant loss , today I started to take things apart to pull the GP to see if they are steamed...
i appreciate the thread, I enjoy reading as this is the only way we learn . My rockers, push rods and springs had rust all over them from condensation but no sludge
I cleaned the driver side with wire brush . Reason i had that nasty rust , pitting which was related to condensation is because...
One of the main changes i am going to make when i return home from 2 weeks holiday vacation is to yank the DIY re route turbo drain and put it back to the valley PAN Indeed . It was one of the most Pain project . But it will eliminate things as i never had these systematical issues before until...
