What is the resistance of the wavy shunt on the GPR controllers?

How much resistance between the top and the bottom? You will need a micro-ohm meter to measure this small of a resistance. Is the metal ribbon made of a material that changes resistance as it heats up? All materials change resistance as heat is applied or removed but the goal of this component...

Looking for Some Sage Wisdom, 85 F250, 6.9IDI

Check the seal on the cowl to the hood of your truck. If that's bad or missing it may indicate a possibly more serious issue. When they are missing or broken off rain water can pool on top of the air filter lid and then sometimes the water can leak past the center bolt down into the engine. That...

Dead e4od. What to look for first?

If you can't find replacement and decide to take it on yourself, here's a post with some useful information and links that may help. https://www.oilburners.net/posts/1051198/

    BILLET ALUMINUM INJECTOR CAP

Any chance he'd sell someone (you) a copy of his CAD files and Machine code for good measure? Then they could be ordered to stock from a local machine shop with similar equipment.

You're amongst friends here. Several on here have taken on large projects/full scale restomods of these trucks and they've turned out well. The more recent one that's still on going with a through build thread would likely be worth you look over is posted by hacked89. His build thread is here...

    11 Year 75 Crew Cab 7.3 Build

According to a recent ARP bolt making video I watched "ARP" is stamped into every nut bolt and stud they've made. Should be easy enough to find on the end of your studs as Wes shows above or the lower flange edges of your nuts. It's mentioned at 4:45 in this video.

    Crazy IDI build ideas

About 1:20 into the video the guy pulls off what looks like the shut off solenoid wire for each pump for a few seconds each. What do you think he's trying to accomplish? And is he doing exactly what you say shouldn't be done except he's doing it for a short time and only at idle?

Newbie here with a 1990 international 7.3 idi bus. Needs help

    1. rockauto.com or ebay for valve cover gaskets. The gaskets are the same for all the IH 6.9/7.3 engines, just look at an application that uses that engine to get the correct ones. Felpro or Motorcraft branded ones will probably give the best life but many times you can just tighten up the valve...

    Front crank seal

Here's one that a member built to use the three nuts welded to the front plate for this purpose. I believe there's an option on the front seal to get a wear sleeve for the crankshaft nose as well. Make sure you know what version is in your truck before you dig in and get surprised...

    I hate TTB axles

As much as I don't want to say it I wasn't happy with the wear on my KO2s either. I got 25k out of the first set and barely 30 out of the second set. I completely re-bushed the entire front suspension at the end of the first set in anticipation of getting at least 15k more with good suspension...

CDD Shipping Department Closed Sept 19th-Oct 31st

You should plan the IDI event then when everyone arrives, show them all the irons in the fire and your tool box and stand back and see what happens. Just feed and water 'em and reward them with a discount and few sneak peaks at all your secret shiny stuff and presto whamo you're all caught up!

    OBS Overheat!!!!

What did pulling the glowplugs reveal? DId any of the glowplugs look "steam cleaned"? Did you do a compression test at the same time by chance? That might help validate or alleviate concerns about a hydrolock issue. All that "blowby" in your video could be coolant steaming out of the crankcase...

    Bigger IP/Injector help

The rod is staked in two spots that crimp the threads. It’s not possible to spin the adjustment until they are drilled out.

    Project Truck - 89' F250

Can't tell for sure but it looks like a clamp might be missing on the front end of the CDR tube, going into the front of the pump gear cover.

Steering is going to put me in a ditch

Check for slop in the collapsible steering shaft and rag joint. After this many years either or both can contribute significant amounts of looseness to the steering feel. New reg joint can be had for reasonable, the steering shaft seems to be pretty expensive if you can't find a good one in a...

I'm back in the IDI game!

I don't think a chunk came out of that piston. I think it got hot and started to flow, it looks more melted than impacted. Doesn't this truck have really low miles? I think I'd try getting a new standard or maybe try to find a standard + piston and see if the wall will hone out. I don't think...

    Bigger IP/Injector help

I seem to remember that the IDIT wastegate was tuned to open around 7-8 psi from the factory so maybe no one has ever adjusted your rod. This photo and the following few in my album will show you what needs to be done to make the actuator rod adjustable if it's not already done on yours. You...

    OBS Overheat!!!!

Pulling the glow plugs and letting it sit over night or a couple days before cranking again could give you a clue as to which cyl is filling with coolant but not necessarily if it's coming from an injector cup. If there's any liquid in there, it will come squirting out like a fire hose. The GPs...

    Non AC dash control question

@BrianX128 I've got a good a/c panel out of a '91 I have no use for. You pay the ride and it's yours. Probably needs a fan switch as the back side is discolored from heat but I think it's good otherwise no broken mounting tabs or brackets. The Temp Blend cable isn't attached but it's the same...

    Project Truck - 89' F250

If you're asking about what I think you are asking about, the little black 1" square block with 4 wires going to it hanging from the harness near the fuel tower/IP wiring is the WIF module. It senses any water in your fuel bowl and turns on the light on the dash. The fuel heater circuit is...

    1994 7.3 going into 1990 F-350- wiring harness questions

If you are talking about the little 1" square brick hanging of the side of the harness near where the IP/Fuel Tower wiring joins the main harness, that's the WIF module. It monitors the water in fuel sensor and turns on the associated light on your dash when it gets wet.
