    Glow plug troubles... again

If anyone has access to SAE Standards, SAE J156_201901 and SAEJ 156_201210 have information related to what the SAE proscribes for calculating and approving materials for use as fusible links. I would be interested in learning more about what they say. The only information I've read so far about...

    Glow plug troubles... again

Thanks for posting the fuse, here's the trip info for it from this site: https://www.bluesea.com/products/5129/ANL_Fuse_-_200_Amp According to these curves, it will take a minimum of 300amps, possibly up to 500amps, for 10-15sec to trip this fuse (150%-250% of rated value). It will take 600 up...

Good information to have cataloged here. Did anyone ever send him additional glow plugs? I assume he was testing Beru plugs; he never specifically mentioned it.

    Glow plug troubles... again

The period of time is extremely important. The fusible links are not mine, they are an internationally accepted and used product to provide economical, reliable, long term short circuit protection. There are many different fuse designs and types. Proper selection of a fuse is about knowing and...

    Extended cab side window trim

Our '91 had metal studs. The studs penetrate the holder that holds the glass and the glass holder is stuck to the body with a thick butyl rubber strip around the edge. It's likely that you can massage the metal trim out from the glass holder without braking the seal but be prepared to have to...

    ZF-5 w/4x4 swap

Since your truck is 2wd you may not have the bulbs in the dash to light up but there should be an extra connector or two down beside the trans that is for the xfer case hookup and should operate as described above.

    Glow plug troubles... again

Please don't add a "let's see if this doesn't blow" fuse to your glow plug system. You can get the fusible link wire from a number of sources but this seems to be the most commonly available packaging...

Or look for the 2006 body builders guides. I'm pretty sure they have dimensions in them as well. You can still download it from Ford: https://fordbbas.com/publications click on body builder layout and scroll down to 2006. Superduty starts around page 100.

    Glow plug troubles... again

For the brick nose trucks one of the best things you can do for your GP system is to get those two wires out of that plug and replace them with a single heavy cable going directly to the GP relay from the hot post of the starter relay (where the yellow wires start now). Ford did exactly this in...

Only 1 brake light and blowing blinker fuse

There's a full set of wiring diagrams online for the '84/'85 trucks somewhere. I posted a link to them recently but I can't remember where right now. They should be basically be the same for this function of yours.

Only 1 brake light and blowing blinker fuse

Do you have tilt column? This is a classic symptom of the wires or contacts going bad in the turn signal switch under your steering wheel. Your blinker relay could be failing as well but it would affect both front and rear if so. It's located in your under dash fuse panel. Look for the round...

    ZF-5 w/4x4 swap

My '97 is a CCSB I think it is called a 154"wb. It is a e4od and 4407 and has a 2 piece driveshaft. An ext cab long bed should be 155" wb, is yours an f350? I didn't know an ext cab was ever offered in the f350. I thought there was only regular cab and crew. I know there were a few conversion...
