I would love to regularly be able to get b-20. With the added lubricity of the biodiesel you do not need additives any more.
Any more than b-20 and the rubber parts soften unless you run viton. I have switched to viton orings and hoses and have no issue.
Town commuter? Does that mean no interstate? I had a friend with a 190 in high school and it was bombproof but slow. I had a 220 and currently daily drive a 240. It will be a cool car, and more parts are available than you might think. My son daily drives a 115 chassis and most stuff for it...
The mercedes classic center in california does nothing but provide parts and assistance to owners of older mercedes. Reach out to them directly if dealers continue to give flack.
Those guys had a clutch disc built for me in Germany and delivered to my door a couple years ago. I just had to give...
The dealer in Nashville just ordered keys for me for my 1984 the other day. Try a different dealer. You need the vin and you have to appear in person at the dealer with proof of ownership. The keys are made elsewhere and shipped to the dealer so it does take several days.
Do you know for sure when the oil was last changed? If it was your first oil change after getting it back, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Drive it for a while and send off your next oil change.
What @DaveBen said. Crutchfield will sell you everything you need. The issue may be finding that radio in stock. Crutchfield had it backordered last time I looked.
I bought an alpine CDE-172BT after trying some cheaper head units. I wanted the handsfree calling to actually work and the alpine has a remote mic that I put on the a pillar. Before that you had to yell into the dash which kinda defeats the purpose of the hands free.
There was a bucket console option. Early OBS was a true center console, later the console flipped up and made a 3rd seat and I think it moved with the passenger seat and the driver was independent.
Others on here have put seats in from newer than OBS. I think some modification is needed.
Its most likely an injector. I would take them out and pop test them, If its not that it may be the engine itself. Your compression numbers are high enough, but they have a lot of variability. You want your compression# to all be within 10% of each other for a smooth running engine. Yours...
Right. If the rotating assembly is not balanced it will hit unevenly and cause rollover noise. Unbalanced injectors can also cause it. I have never tried to fix rollover noise by swapping motors, but i have changed injectors and improved the issue.
I was always told rollover noise was an out of balanced engine. The DMF provided a buffer between the crankshaft and the transmission to mute the sound of the vibration being amplified in the transmission.
Did you build the motor? Did you have the crank balanced?
Come get the block I have with the pistons. My memory is it was a hone and go, but its been a year or so since I looked at it.
It threw a rod on #8 but the block is ok. Crank is yard art and I already have a spare motor so its just taking up space now and I have a mercedes 240 motor that...
I have some good pistons (6 or 7) from a 7.3 I tore down and am not likely to put back together any time soon. I believe they are standard but would need to pull them off the shelf to verify.
I don't know where you are in middle TN, but I would suggest you take your clutch disk and pressure plate to felton Clutch in Chattanooga. They will build your disk and match it to a pressure plate and it will be done right. I have only used them on tractor clutches, but their prices were good...
