    intake snorkel anyone?

I made a big pvc one for my rig. Goes through the fender up to the roof, air doesn't get any fresher than that driving lol. Cost less than $30 at the time to boot!

    Tire shop: rant/question...

Hard disagree on the blue. I love the look of the blue on my brand new tires (white letters out of course). If I want to wash it off, I can. If the shop washes it off, I don't get to ride around looking spiffy for a while. It would be like a phone store clerk pulling off your shipping protector...

    Lug pattern fix suggestions

I like catbirds answer, but if you feel spacers are not an option, since jeepers love super duty axles, there are some converted hub bearings for the front that run the 8x6.5 pattern available from a few companies. Pretty expensive once you add in all the supporting costs though.

How to get camber bushings out

There is also a tool made for this. https://www.uniquetruck.com/product/22704/ford-4wd-castercamber-sleeve-puller?affiliateID=10056&gclid=CjwKCAjwq-TmBRBdEiwAaO1en4PSevkG4uGvuzy64ShAVylR8RRVr0y2Sc7bNOrF2e4XH7TfAqbs3BoCrPcQAvD_BwE Works great, and not just on Ford's either, albiet expensive

    Excessive Concrete Highway Bounce

As far as a reasonably priced solution goes I would agree bilstein's are the best, but even at that are very limited in their effectiveness. As a little comic relief I once worked on country singer Alan Jackson's Dodge Ram 2500 Power Wagon they already had coil springs/bilstein 4600s in the...

    Excessive Concrete Highway Bounce

Please don't take this to be rude, but in a effort to keep good information flowing, There is nothing a shock can do to soften a very stiff spring. Shocks only control the rate at wich a spring moves, not spring rate. In extremely specific scenarios, they may change the overall ride quality...

    Excessive Concrete Highway Bounce

Rough country suspension is hands down the worst mass market US lift kit available. Not saying it doesn't work for years on many trucks, but I've taken off hundreds of their kits for folks with ride quality concerns. On most of their kits, the springs are simply too stiff for shocks to matter at...

Interesting find when rebuilding a pump this week

As opposing scenario support for this, a 94 idit I used to have had a bad problem starting cold with all if the usual suspects verified eleminated. Starter sounded like it was working fine. Replaced starter/batteries. Fired perfect every time no matter how cold. Starter did not sound weak at all...

Dana D50 TTB Part Number Confusion

The total design was a little less than intuitive in my opinion, but the spring rate was nessisary given the pivot points leverage factor. The ttb twists up on frame center, and the solid axle twists up on the opposite wheel. I'm honestly surprised 200lbs was enough haha. The gvwr is in my...

Dana D50 TTB Part Number Confusion

Correct, but the actual weight capacity per pair is 4600 for the ttb springs and 4400 for the solid axle, regardless of arch position

Dana D50 TTB Part Number Confusion

Second on Wes. The 3850 is the d44 hd, outers are 100% the same between 50/60. In fact the 50 ttb springs are stiffer to accommodate the torsional twist on the arms Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk

    Crew Cab Build

I know my 92 has a serp setup with the non strut tensioner, but i am not sure if it's early or late build date, I'll have to check later. I am certain however that it was the exact same setup on my 94 Factory Turbo I had several years ago. so where in that scenario the strut tensioner fits in...

ARP stud install and engine tear down

You even put them in a studded 6.9? I though the issue was with non studded early build versions seeping. I know this is actually a hot topic in a different thread about the cooling mod, just wondering why block it if it already had it and your studding Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk

    Champion Radiators for the IDI

I've got a mishi in mine, had it for a couple years now, and hasn't leaked on me yet. Although I hardly ever drive that truck and not very far at that. More of a toy these days. Probably less than a thousand miles on it. To all who may consider one for an idi though, a word of warning. The...

    U-Joint Counsel

Visually, it does look slightly bent, if you can straighten that out, great. A hammer works wonders on something that is going to be trash if it can't be fixed anyway. I will say that since you managed to get the cap in at all, it can't be bent that extremely. The cap fit should be tight...

Snicklas was pretty much right, though there is a very small difference in srw and drw chassis. For point of reference, wheel mounting surface distances per oe setup Chassis cab-69" Pickup single wheel- 70" Pickup drw-72" Three inches is a lot of difference when talking wheel/tire/load...

@Thewespaul , do you have an outline of what you've done to the shop truck (or haven't done for that matter) that we could refer too? I'm curious what set of parts nets that combination of characteristics in your book, I have a feeling it'll be close to where I want to send one of my trucks
