    Installing cab clearance lights

Black on black looks good! I grabbed a set of amber halogen ones from LMC. I guess if you wouldn't mind measuring that would be great. I was planning on just measuring and doing some math. It's going to rain here for the next like 3 weeks and I don't have a covered garage so it may be a...

    Frying GP switches

It looks like both of the wires from either end of the GP switch go to the starter solenoid. Would that even be possible? The two newer looking red wires - one on the post on the left with a handful of wires including the orange one and then one red wire on the post on the right. No in-line...

    Installing cab clearance lights

I guess I should just leave it unplugged? Its hard to say where it goes its kinda a cluster f*ck of wires in the engine bay. The wires are kinda covered by a plastic thing and I think its basically the same place where all of the wires from the fuse box go through. The wires are red, red and...

    Installing cab clearance lights

The kick panel is the plastic panel on the left of the clutch pedal? I've got these open harnesses right now neither of which are brown. The blue one concerns me... my guess is that it should be plugged into the connector in the image

On the LED subject - is it an issue or a nuisance (wiring wise) mixing LED with with Halogen?

    Installing cab clearance lights

I'm now wondering if I made a mistake getting halogen vs LED. I've always been under the impression that mixing the two systems can be kind of complicated but thats coming from motorcycle knowledge and the batteries are much smaller. Thanks for looking into it!

I know, I'm scared haha! They are not LED. How can I make sure the wire can handle the extra current? Math? haha

    Installing cab clearance lights

I’m planning on installing cab clearance lights on my truck this weekend. I found a few semi helpful YouTube videos. I’m mostly concerned about what wire I can splice into without causing damage. Does anyone have tips? Anyone done this before?

I did find a sticky on a 6.9l so I'm going to trace these instructions: https://www.oilburners.net/threads/how-to-manual-glow-plug-switch.36169/#post-404408

Slow start at 47 °F ... Glow plugs?

I would still just narrow out the glow plug situation then jump to the next. And I need to correct myself on the last post. Mine read .7 ohms which is obviously relative to the setting you use on your multimeter but here is a link that explains how to test them...

Slow start at 47 °F ... Glow plugs?

You can test your glow plugs with a multi meter and it’s more accurate than a test light. Someone will correct me if I’m wrong but take the cap off the GP and put positive there and put negative on ground. You should get a reading of 7-8 ohms per GP. I believe you want to disconnect all of the...

Slow start at 47 °F ... Glow plugs?

On top of what Rock said you can press in the shrader valve on the fuel filter with a small flat or Phillips head to bleed the air out of it

Slow start at 47 °F ... Glow plugs?

I'm probably not the greatest person to answer these questions but if the filter is snug and not leaking then I can't imagine that being an issue. Do the return lines have fuel on them? Also, I'm not sure if this has already been done but I would just test the relay. My truck was having the...

    Frying GP switches

I didn't install the bypass but I'm guessing there is a how to/sticky on doing so? Seems like maybe reading that and tracing the steps might be a good idea.

could be several areas. I think the most common are return lines and water separator.

    Frying GP switches

The gp controller was bypassed by the previous owner. After replacing the switch it started fine so I'm guessing all the gps are good. I did test all of them like 4 months ago and they were good. There aren't inline fuses and I tried to add them last go around and I couldn't find a fuse that...

    Frying GP switches

Truck wouldn't start this morning and after gassing it a little while trying to start I got white smoke. Engine cranks but doesn't start. Disconnected batteries both are good. Took GP switch off and tested continuity and it was fried. I've now fried two GP switches since I got the truck 6...

    Coolant Flush Procedure

I’m very happy about the non-clogged situation! Yes, new gauges are on the top of the list. With these old crap ones, is there any sort of average place the needle would run at?

    Coolant Flush Procedure

Now that I’ve replaced the radiator and upper and lower hoses. After putting like 100miles on it the other day when I was driving I noticed that the temp gauge was reading oddly low (cold) like barely even touching the n or o on the gauge. Could this somehow be related to changing the radiator...
