Intermittent violent engine shaking, possible misfire.

Lol How many times have I “discovered” some “engineering” on my truck and wondered, “*** happened here?!?”, only to remember my “temporary fix” from several years back. Edit: *** = W T F. The stupid robot reads my post but not my signature? W T F ?

    Vacuum Pump

For the last several years, I’ve had trouble finding a reliable pump. Before that, the check valve, on the booster, was the most likely suspect.

I like Isspro gauges. Mine are plumbed into the vacuum manifold. If you follow the hose from the vacuum pump, it terminates at said manifold.

Tips to diagnose squeaky belt or bearing component

I use a section of hose (+/- 3/8”) like a stethoscope. One end to your ear, the other to “probe” the suspects. It works pretty nicely…Be sure to clean the “ear end” of the hose though.

    Vacuum Pump

Update: I ended up using A Premium website … should be branded “A chinesium”. It showed up in a couple of days, pulls 27” and was shipped out with what seems to be 90 wt (?) lube. After about 150 miles, it seems to be working well.

    Vacuum Pump

I agree. The problem right now, is finding a pump. O’Reilly, Autozone, Napa and Advance all say that it’s disco. Some show up on eBay…not my favorite option. It’s looking like modifying a PSD pump is the way to go

    Stumped: Glove Box Latch

LOL. Y’all are awesome. Maybe a glove box hunt is in order. Let’s see what breaks while winching. Maybe that will be carnage enough to satisfy you!

    Vacuum Pump

The Cardone was the longest lasting replacement for me. I’m currently seeking one. Apparently, Standard has a part number too…I haven’t seen that one yet.

    Vacuum Pump

O’Reilly’s says that the part I’d disco. They reported that they had contacted Standard, Cardone and Dorman…no go. They agreed to refund my dollars. I’m considering the idea of a canister, 12” is good for one press of the pedal…maybe I could get to 2 or 3.?. It would be a temporary fix but the...

    Stumped: Glove Box Latch

AND, I found 62 cents, a roach and some keys…no clue what the keys were for, but I know what to do with the rest of the bounty!

    Stumped: Glove Box Latch

No firearms involved. Zero collateral damage. I used a probe. Place as shown (below), grab the cam and push inboard.

    I’d like to be 6’4” 260lbs.

Talk me out of it, please

So, you’ve talked yourself out of it? Better you than me. I get it. I go through the same process…somehow ended up with 9 trucks anyway.

Talk me out of it, please

Nope. I won’t try to “talk you out of it”. Rent a trailer, hire a truck or buy the AAA “RV” plan for a year.

    Stumped: Glove Box Latch

I have some 325 grain subsonic rounds. Thank you though! If necessary, I was thinking putting one through the air box (from the engine bay side) No real harm done there. It’s a no A/C truck and no one uses the passenger seat anyhow…a little more ventilation, right.?. Thank you sir. It’s...

LOL. Sorrta’ my MO! I won’t shoot her, unless she gives me problems. Estwing, however, is not “out of the question”.

I have to agree. Additionally, the inline seems much “smoother” to me. Some of the best engines that I’ve ever owned were I 6’s. The V8 Diesel is still my favorite .

    Stumped: Glove Box Latch

Should I resort to brutality, I promise you a video…maybe the .458 SOCOM hammer, maybe a Glock hammer. Then again, Estwing has served me well. You’ll get pictures either way.

    Vacuum Pump

Much appreciated sir. Maybe my gauge isn’t right (OTC). It’s reading almost 12”…good for one press of the pedal. Maybe my method of brake application is flawed. I’m the “light engagement, release, engage again” fellow…12” doesn’t support that method. The second press is a “no assist” scenario.

The optimism is overwhelming! If I weren’t concerned for your wellbeing, I’d be motivated.
