Bullnose / Bricknose Body Work Compatibility

Found this: http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/radiator-support.html If I'm reading this correctly, gassers and diesels DID share the same core support, in some cases. Down the proverbial rabbit hole tomorrow.

Bullnose / Bricknose Body Work Compatibility

Well, I guess it's time for a P/N look up! It won't happen tonight ... but I 'll have time in the morning.

Bullnose / Bricknose Body Work Compatibility

I think that the core support from a gasser is/was different than diesel in all generations. That's why I said "It's my understanding". If I had a dollar to bet, I'd bet that the part numbers are different (short and fat / tall and skinny, gas and diesel). Since I don't (have a dollar to bet)...

Bullnose / Bricknose Body Work Compatibility

It's my understanding that the sheet metal components are interchangeable between gassers and diesels, provided that you have the correct core support... like Snicklas said, the interior plastics (and maybe their mounting points?) are different between each generation and not exactly...

Yes sir. They do look great to me. I was hoping to get a perspective from someone that's been running the 19.5's for a while.

Bullnose / Bricknose Body Work Compatibility

If OP is working on the 350 in his sig., wheel arches won't matter much, in my openion. Also "99%" sure that core support is different between gasser and diesel in all generations.

    91 7.3 V-Belt water pump procedures?

I bought the $100 NAPA wrench / tool for fan clutch removal a few years ago. I've used it on 4 trucks now ... well worth it, in my book. You may be able to rent it from the parts house. Also, I've used a "dead blow" hammer, on the wrench, with great results.

Hello All, I'm building a budget / plan for changing my final drive ratio ('93 DRW IDIT CC ZF5) and I'd appreciate, greatly, input from our members with experience running the 19.5" wheel / tire. My concerns are: (More) rigid ride Balancing. Effects on braking I'm also curious as to the...

    Questions and concerns

I like your plan ... to be clear... Between lift pump and FSV ... NOT through lift pump

    Questions and concerns

Fuel line between rear tank and FSV plugged with garbage ... maybe? Take the line loose and blow it out. Could also be garbage in that side of the FSV, so select the rear tank and blow it out from "in front" of the valve. I hope that's the cure. Good luck.

Found Banks 1st Gen COMPLETE Install Packet + Paraphernalia

Yes sir ... I was runnin' "flat out". Didn't gain much speed in the last 1/4 mile, then the trooper was up my pipe ... decided to come out of the throttle a little... let him out of the smoke screen.

Found Banks 1st Gen COMPLETE Install Packet + Paraphernalia

That's me! I did, however, get a warning for running 72 in the truck in my avatar ... only a mile or so from where I took off ... It was hard to hide my since of accomplishment / pride from the trooper as I didn't know that truck would run 70!

    6.9idi head retorqueing.

I'd recommend using the pattern (for removal / backing out & re-torquing) in the shop manual. If you don't have one (yet), you should be able to see one on the Autozone website. Good luck, hope it works!

It's a 40 amp fuse ... comes with comes with 8 gauge (I believe) pig tales about 6" long ... about $11 at O'Reilly. ((EDIT: Part # MAH1 Line: (Lit) made by Littlefuse)) I also disable that stupid heater on every truck ... not convinced that it does anything good.
