Windstar electric fan on short-wide radiator

Good to know, I will look into it. The underhood temperature of my engine compartment is a lot lower since I have everything ceramicoated inside and out from the heads to the downpipe, turbo, and everything between. I had no issues running fanless other than NO IDLING :D but I never dreamed...

Windstar electric fan on short-wide radiator

I might have to take you up on that offer, I'm down in Albany a lot too. Your setup looks worlds better. Now I just have to figure out if I want to swap to the narrower radiator

    Manual glow plug wiring issue

Yes there is a red wire (doesn't have to be red :D) that is about 3 inches long or so - just a small guy. One big loop crimped on one end and a little loop terminal crimped on the other so that power is provided from relay input (which is always hot) to the relay signal post. Then just run a...

    Two questions....

goof off for the stickers. or gasoline, wd-40, heat gun, or some other stuff im sure. heat gun and goof off does it for me usually. i know someone else will have the rocker arm info, but you may want to invest in a haynes manual for the idis. I got one it was pretty cheap

Where To Start Sitting For 8 Years

I see what you mean about the intake fog, but the little straw that comes on the can gets past the precup easily. Plus ut doesny take much to mist past the precup throat. Then you dont have to dry crank. With the glowplugs out you can make sure there wasnt any coolant that would bend a rod, and...

Where To Start Sitting For 8 Years

wd probably works just fine too. You gotta get through the rust AND lube it up. I just know no different metals I've worked on that the triflow got into the rust better and removed it while greasing it up. Kept the rust away for a good time longer. But any pitting from the rusting is there, if...

Where To Start Sitting For 8 Years

I would suggest triflow over wd-40 for unsticking rings... I don't use wd-40 for anything. Sure triflow costs more but it actually works through the rust and prevents it too :D. It is a real lubricant, WD is a water displacer. They both are described similarly, but in the past I have had better...

    Manual glow plug wiring issue

Sounds like you have it wired up wrong. There are a couple ways to wire these up. I prefer to use a wire into the cab to the switch that has to be grounded. Safer that way - if the insulation rubs through then it will kill the glowplugs. But if you had it hot then if/when insulation rubs...

Windstar electric fan on short-wide radiator

Just fabbed up the windstar electric fan on my short-wide radiator. Fitment wasn't perfect but it does go on decently. I used some steel plate to make up the size difference, along with a piece of wood :angel: on one side. Using one of the push-in probes on the radiator with a...

    glow plug harness design?

Don't mind the boat stuff, this is for 12V DC systems, that is the important part  When in doubt, go a size larger. Initial current is going to be higher, that is why you use it to size the wire - if the wire isn't sized correctly it will get HOT as a byproduct of resistance due to...

    glow plug harness design?

I think I have pictures of the harness I made. Still working good after a few years. If people liked it, I suppose I could make more. I made all the wires the same length, more so for versatility and ease of interchanging. If you are having problems starting, it isn't the length of the wires...

    non turbo IDI with Nitrous...?

With N/A you can set the pump to be too rich at wide open throttle, and just keep your foot out of it until you want that fuel for NOS... Its all about foot control... If I crank up the pump 10%, i will have to travel less distance to get the same fuel level as I had before turning it up...

    Ceramic Coating Pistons

I had my exhaust manifolds, pipes including up and down pipe, and turbo turbine housing coated. The manifolds were coated inside and out, in the past things would get so hot even the hood was hot as hell. Now its cool (relatively speaking) under there even after driving a ton. Turbo spools a lot...

    Idi exhaust manifolds

Not the seller but AFAIK Sort of. They will bolt onto any IDI, but the outlets are slightly different on one of the two logs... I had to swap the manis off the UHaul van engine i bought with my truck engine manis to keep my turbo plumbing happy :dunno

    Idi performance parts for sale

Well usually - at least in my prior dealings - in these situations it is first come first serve so.... Who made first claim to parts by either PM or post? Seems only fair that who ever contacted first gets first dibs, second is second in line, and so on and so forth :dunno Looking at the only...

    Anyone here ~ACTUALLY sleeve a 7.3L to a 6.9L bore?

Theres only two sizes i know of - 1/8 wall and 3/32... Maybe sleeve the sleeve :puke: just kidding. The wall thickness doesn't matter, just the bore/diameter measures, find one closer to what you need instead of going thicker... Pages 12 and 13 have all of the many 4" bore sleeves... our...
